[(Akira also received lots of Pikachu kisses while the cuddling was happening. Chu chu.)
Red's "walk" ends up being a very long one, not returning until after the sun has completely gone down but still early in the evening. He ended up doing a heavy training session in the mountains at some point with the rest of his Pokémon and the friendly neighborhood mountain cats, so he comes home absolutely exhausted. With all the physical, emotional, and mental fatigue Red is feeling right now, he looks like he's ready to sleep for a hundred years.
Espeon walks over to the kotatsu and disappears underneath it while Red sheds his winter boots and coat, hanging the latter on a coat rack he bought for the house a while back. Pikachu runs over to his trainer and jumps happily into his arms. Red doesn't return the smile, but he holds his little buddy close and strokes his head as he approaches Akira, standing by the kotatsu. Whether Akira is still mad at him or not, he doesn't plan on sticking around for long anyway.]
I called the funeral director while I was out. Kokichi's burial is going to be on January 2nd at 10am. There'll be a graveside service before they bury him, but that's it.
[The full funeral package was way too expensive, plus Kokichi probably wouldn't have wanted all that extra fluff anyway.]
