If he's getting some, they have to be something he's already familiar with. Other than that, I think physical attacks are still viable. Sometimes I see the Walking Bulldozer flinging fire horses into the air despite how they absorb physical attacks. It doesn't kill them, but it gets the job done of creating distance. Who knows? Maybe it would have fallen into a pit. Environmental factors work well if you know what you're doing.
