The blade does next to nothing when it actually gets an opportunity to hit, but it's enough to block the Daitengu's strikes and maintain its attention. Akira has climbed onto the angel's shoulders, the intention being to cut the strings around Sandalphon and otherwise use it as a meat shield -- but he looks up and sees Ananke and the bunnies arranging themselves.]

[Sandalphon does its best to draw the birdman upwards, mostly by using low sweeps and upward thrusts to maintain pressure and force the Daitengu to be the first to rise. After all, legs are defenseless when they're just hanging uselessly in the air. (Occasional repositioning from the fan attacks doesn't hurt, either.) But steadily it starts to work, and Akira uses Sandalphon's neck and head to hide himself as he climbs up his own Persona.]
