[ after fucking off from the dungeon, leaving the daitengu all alone and sad (invite them too, guys :'( ), it's time to have fun. at whatever agreed upon time, the ou hirajiro gang is here to finally get some good r&r. rei has been extremely excited so she's early in front of the bathhouse, holding a bag of her belongings. she waves down anyone she sees. come faster!! let's get this show on the road! ]

Bathhouse time, hoooooo!!

[ for things in the bathhouse, there are your usual spa options: a sauna, jacuzzi, pedicures, manicures, that kind of stuff. have fun, everyone. ]

[ pouncing just for a crumb... love thyself, kano. she will drop a few things as she eats like a glutton, but when she notices the cat, she'll look down. ]

[ He's just here on babysitting duty, even though if something happens, he can't do anything because he's a cat. Maybe he'll call Ala out if there's some emergency.

All the little things Rei drops get tucked into a zip lock bag and it'll be like the little snack bag when he's hungry later, who knows what the next handful has. ]

[ she'll hold out an entire pretzel for the cat because yeah, why not. ]

[ He follows the five second rule as best he can, and if it's over that, he'll blow off the dust and/or wipe it off on the side of his pants and it's good as new.

Pretzels at least are hard and dry and okay to do that with, so he'll pretend to be a good kitty and pounce up at the pretzel, trying to bat it gently out of Rei's hand. ]

[ if ellie finds out that he's offering her food that was on the ground and that he wiped off on his pants, she's punching him. anyway, the pretzel is batted out of her hand and it'll go on the floor. it is his for the taking, but she's going to take this opportunity to pet him while he "eats". ]

[ He's going to get punched, because even he can't blow all the lint off everything. Some of the popsicle wrapperes probably have noceo blood on them because Kano just tossed a heart into that pocket once.

He ducks a little under Rei's hand to get to the pretzel so he can stick it in his bag, but pretends to gnaw on it while he lets Rei pet his back but not his head, because he feels weird about being touched in general, but he got a pretzel out of it, so Rei gets a pass.

His fur is soft and warm, but he takes care to look like a street cat instead of a house pet, with slightly rough short fur instead of fur that's smooth and glossy. ]

I didn't know that they let cats in the bathhouse.

[ maybe she should have brought the cats from home if she knew that they were allowed. ]

[ In both threads simultaneously, Kano realizes that coming to the bathhouse was a mistake.

He refuses to go into the water, especially with Rei, and lets his fur poof up in agitation so Rei knows that's a no. He doesn't want to hiss at her, and he's been doing this longer than Terry so he doesn't do something stupid like shake or nod his head as an animal, so it's just

[ lmfao god i love that emote so much. it's so cute and i'll just keep seeing it as kano. also, jokes on you, rei hasn't been around cats long enough to know that means agitation. all the cats she interacted with were nice because she kept giving them food, so she has no idea what this means. ]

[ time to pick up the kitty and run to a bath. ]

Kano meows in indignation when he's picked up, but Rei doesn't speak cat so it's just a long, drawn out meow that could mean anything. Despite that, he doesn't struggle or move at all, because he doesn't want to be dropped, neither on the ground or in the water. He's going to run the moment she lets him go, he's preparing himself for escape. ]

[ bold of you to assume that rei will put him down. she took a break from everything so she's still in her swimsuit. she's just going to head straight to the jacuzzi with the cat in her arms. is he ready to sit in a hot bubbling tub. ]

He is not ready for anything but there is a yowling cat in the jacuzzi now and I guess the townspeople also look at this and go "aww, cute" and look away. The townspeople not caring about anything weird really sucks sometimes if you need saving. ]

[ rei just sits in the jacuzzi while holding nekano. her cat now. ]

Are you warm now, kitty?

[ He should have just ditched, yeah. At least he has that feather breathing charm that lets him breathe underwater so Rei can't accidentally drown him, but all this really sucks because the water is hot instead of warm and this is the equivalent of him being dunked into the water fully clothed. It's going to be freezing when he gets out of here... ]

Myaaa...

[ A dejected meow... that Rei can't interpret... He pats his paws on Rei's shoulder. At least let him up here instead of in the water. ]

[ ellie is going to laugh when she sees him all soaked. haha. rei doesn't understand cats at all so she just thinks that he wants to go higher. ]

Oh, do you want a higher view?

[ and then she lifts him up like that opening scene in the lion king. can you see everything now, simba ]

[ Just like he thought, it's freezing when he's pulled out of the water and held up in the air like that. He can't even be a dog and shake the water out of his fur, so he just hangs limply and gives Rei a sad meow. Can she tell what a sad meow sounds like? It's probably sounds like a normal meow to her. ]

[ it does sound like a normal meow, but she kind of gets it. she remembers that cats don't typically like water so maybe it's time to get kano out of this hell. ]

Now that you're all warm, let's dry you off!

[ does he like a loud hairdryer in his ears? because that's what he's going to get if he doesn't escape from her arms while she goes over to the girls' change room. ]

[ Kano is less scared of the hairdryer and more scared of being in the girls changing room tbh. He makes a valiant effort to get away from Rei without accidentally scratching her or anything, and almost makes it to freedom what another girl picks him up and asks Rei excitedly if this is her cat? ]

[ haha, have fun in the girls changing room. ]

Mmhm, I just found her! Isn't she cute? I'm going to take her home.

[ rei just naturally assumes that the cat is a girl and also that nekano is going to join all the other cats that she has at home, going from 30 cats to 31 cats. ]

[ BOTH REI AND TERRY CAN'T TELL HE'S A BOY Kano kind of wants to cry now, pawing at the other girls hands in true bongocat fashion. ]

Oh, I think she's nervous around new people.

[ she will save him, but she'll now just go back to hugging the cat. she will chat with the girl for a bit longer because kano needs to go through this hell. is he ready to go to the girls change room and endure the showers there? because that's exactly where rei is going to go in order to wash off. ]
