[ after fucking off from the dungeon, leaving the daitengu all alone and sad (invite them too, guys :'( ), it's time to have fun. at whatever agreed upon time, the ou hirajiro gang is here to finally get some good r&r. rei has been extremely excited so she's early in front of the bathhouse, holding a bag of her belongings. she waves down anyone she sees. come faster!! let's get this show on the road! ]

[ for things in the bathhouse, there are your usual spa options: a sauna, jacuzzi, pedicures, manicures, that kind of stuff. have fun, everyone. ]

[He's developed a liking for black cats in particular, so Jiro just pokes Kano's paw with his finger. He will play with you, cat.]

[ What if the cat doesn't want to play. Kano rolls over onto his back so he can just bat upwards at Jiro's finger with both paws instead of having to reach to the side, and thinks it's really sad that Jiro is that guy at a party who will go off to the side to hang out with the host's cat instead of mingling with everybody else. He gets it, though. He doesn't want to be here either.

...He should just leave. But he has to wait until somebody else opens the door for him and that's a hit-or-miss as to whether he'll make it to the door in time. So he's just sunbathing until everybody's ready to go home. ]

[Jiro would much rather play with the cat than talk to anybody. He hadn't realized how much of socializing had been with animals and not people. Awkward. Animals were generally more straightforward and simple and he liked that. Jiro takes out a cat-shaped cookie from from one of his pouches, and dangles it above Kano's paws.

Is this encouraging cannibalism?]

[ Food will always get this cat's attention, even if he hates eating. Kano sits up so he can stand on his hind legs to grab at the cookie, aiming to knock it out of Jiro's hands like a toy and then pick it up before the five second time limit is up. ]

[Jiro lets go of the cookie and Kano can have his fun with it. He considers this cat a friend now, and will take up half of Kano's sunny spot to lie down himself.]

[ Yo, excuse him? Friends don't steal their friend's sunny spots. He bats the cookie around for a bit and pretends to lose it under a table somewhere while he pockets it, because he's not exactly sure cats eat cookies. Then he trots back over to Jiro and puts his paws up on Jiro's stomach and demands him to move. ]

Myaaah.

Myaaah yourself. I'm not moving.

[He's just going to reach out to scratch Kano's head.]

[ Kano gives a short "Mya!" as he tries to duck out of the way of Jiro's hand. Somehow, being scratched like that is weirder than being petted, because it's not like he's itchy or anything and it's just weird; cats are weird.

He wants his sunny spot back...

He moves down to Jiro's thigh where Jiro can't reach him unless he makes the effort to sit up, and presses his paws up against his leg to give him little shoves as a hint to get out of his space. It just looks like he's kneading. ]

[Jiro only moves enough to get another cookie and toss it down at Kano. It's finally relaxing in this sunny spot with just a cat, and he will be here until it's time to leave.]

[ Kano sighs and goes to fetch the cookie, pretend to bat it around for a while, and stick it in his ziplock bag. But fine, if Jiro's going to steal his sunny spot, he's just going to trot on over there and lie down on Jiro's stomach and the sun's all his again, ha. ]

[Jiro approves of this, and will just pet Kano from there. If he ever finds out the cat is Kano, he'll scream, but for now he's... smiling. Cats are great.]

[ Kano also wants to scream, but he'll allow petting in exchange for sneaking out his phone and taking a picture of Jiro's smiling face to add to his album of miscellaneous secretly taken photos. It's a mix of rare cute smiles and nsfw things.

He also meows loudly so people will turn to look at them. Look at this weirdo lying on the ground in the middle of a spa. Look at that smile; this is a once in a lifetime chance. ]

[The meowing alerts bystanders to stare and talk like Kano wanted. The peace disturbed. Someone whispers and points. Jiro flips them off.]

The fuck are you looking at? There's a million fucking cats in this town! This can't be anything new!

[Go back to your spa amenities.]

[ There are a million cats but they still don't go to the spa where cat hair will clog the drains and most cats don't like water anyways. The chatter quiets down just a little bit, but the glances don't stop and a custodian comes up to Jiro to nudge him with his shoe. "Excuse me, sir. You cannot lie here in the middle of the premises. You're a fall hazard."

Kano purrs on Jiro's stomach because this isn't his problem. ]

Fuck you, old man.

[He doesn't want to be here, and he's gonna get himself kicked out if he can't escape through the front door with 45 watching.]

[ This is how Jiro finally makes his escape, huh. His tone makes the custodian frown, but people being rude isn't new, so he gestures with a nod of his head for Jiro to get up. "There are massage chairs and a spacious lounge for you to enjoy," he says, stooping to shoo Kano off so he can at least take this cat outside. "You don't need to lie on the hard ground and collect dust." ]

[Jiro sits up to bat the custodian's hand away from Kano.]

If the cat wants to sleep in the sun, let him fucking sleep in the sun!

[If everyone else in this bathhouse party can act like a child, he will too. He's still not getting off the floor, and will defend a cat's right to be in the bathhouse.]

[ Kano meows and hops off, because if there's going to be a fistfight, he doesn't want to get caught in the middle of it, but he'll sit next to Jiro in solidarity while the custodian gives him a look and gestures to the door.

"There is plenty of sun outside, sir..." The man sounds tired. This is not the hill he wants to die on. "Can I at least show you a private room you can rest in, so you're not in danger of having your face stepped on?" ]

Is that a threat?

[There may be a fist fight.]

[ "No," the custodian replies levelly, but he does take a step back. Kano bats at Jiro's feet. "Am I going to have to call security to show you the way out?"

That's a threat. ]

[If security shows him the way out, he won't be let back in.]

Fuck if I care.

[He moves one foot back and forth to give Kano something to play with.]

[ The custodian leaves to call for security, while Kano jumps on Jiro's foot, hanging on for a bit, and then hopping off to pad his way over to another sunny spot further inside the spa. He glances over his shoulder at Jiro and meows, which means... something... It could mean anything, but he doesn't want to be here when security comes and grabs him by the tail or something to throw out. ]

[Security can find him wherever, and he'll eventually get out of here, but for now... that cat is weird and Jiro definitely takes it as an invitation to follow.

Something about this strikes him as familiar, and for a moment, Jiro thinks this cat is the same one from the old man's roof. He's probably a little better at telling generic black cats apart than the average person, but they're still cats and he can't be completely sure at this point.]

[ He tries to make himself as Generic Black Cat as he can, but he's still probably smaller than most adult cats without having kitten features himself, with the scruffy fur of an outdoor cat to make it clear he's not anybody's pet. And at least he's smart enough not to wear the collar Maverick gave him as a cat, that he wears as a bracelet as a human. It's fine! He's just a Generic Black Cat, who likes hanging out on rooftops and heading straight for the tea room with the snacks, as if he knows exactly where he's going. ]

[Jiro's already been in the tea room four times to eat anything new that's been set out. He follows Kano in there anyway, maybe the cat wants more cookies. Terry's going to be in debt forever from paying for everyone's food, but that's not Jiro's problem. He's going right for the new plate of hanami dango.]
