[ after fucking off from the dungeon, leaving the daitengu all alone and sad (invite them too, guys :'( ), it's time to have fun. at whatever agreed upon time, the ou hirajiro gang is here to finally get some good r&r. rei has been extremely excited so she's early in front of the bathhouse, holding a bag of her belongings. she waves down anyone she sees. come faster!! let's get this show on the road! ]

[ for things in the bathhouse, there are your usual spa options: a sauna, jacuzzi, pedicures, manicures, that kind of stuff. have fun, everyone. ]

I'm not as bad now as when I was younger, but yeah... I used to have a lot of trouble. I'm fine when it's around friends, but not like this.

[ Just out here in public, where everybody's all scattered and she has the need to gravitate to anybody she knows so she's not just standing around alone. Being with people she knows is a lot better, and is why she can lead an entire group discussion without looking nervous. But she also started the gang with Mondo... Mondo's good with people. But now he's a zombie ): ]

I wouldn't have guessed, especially since you brought together the Black Cats like that.

Huh? Oh... It was Mondo who brought the idea up to me in the first place. Both he and I were [ gang ] leaders back home, and thought it'd be a good idea to start one up here. I already knew Terrence and Rei and some other people, so it was just a matter of inviting people and having them invite people they know too.

[ Even back then, the number of Persona users was fairly small, so in terms of getting everybody together, it wasn't that difficult.

Keeping them together is a different story. Having them come together as a team is an even larger hurdle. ]

I'm glad we can have outings like this too, though. It really makes it feel like we're in a gang together.

So you led a gang before?

[He's assuming, because leader and gang. Huh.]

Is that how you got a gang back then, too?

Oh...

[ The smile on her face drops, but she's still able to put it back up after a split second. ]

No, it was a bit different. The original leader was my big sister. We're not blood related, but her family took me in, along with two other friends from the orphanage we lived in. That was the gang, and I inherited the role of leader later.

[ She was just next in line. It had nothing to do with having the qualities of a leader, bringing people together, none of that. ]

-Oh.

[So she's an orphan, and... for some reason had to take over for her older sister.]

...Sorry if I brought up something bad.

No. [ She shakes her head ] It's alright. It's not a bad thing, it's just...

[ Sad. She can't even say that it was an accident or the natural course of life, but at least in the novel route, she finally knows that it wasn't a suicide driven by grief, but one done out of love. Ayano isn't gone forever; she's trapped in the Daze. Kido might not be able to help anymore, but she has confidence that the rest of them will be able to save her. ]

It's been a long time, so it's fine. It's a good gang. We stayed together for over ten years, and were able to bring more and more people into it, so it was like having the family grow.

So... you were able to recruit more people?

Yeah, somehow... I was sent to recruit one member, but then we met her brother and his friend, and some others who had known her too... It sort of snowballed from there.

[ They more than doubled their numbers in like two days... wild ]

It sounds like you did some recruiting too, then.

Yeah... We were looking for specific sorts of people, though, so it's pretty different from here, where it's... basically everyone. All the Persona users willing to work together as a group.

[ That makes it easier in some ways, harder in others. The recruitment job was sort of a flub anyways. ]

Specific sorts of people?

Um...

[ She hesitates for a moment, but decides that with all this Persona stuff going on, eye abilities isn't the weirdest thing out there. She doesn't have to worry about being called a monster here.

So she activates it and lets her eyes turn red. ]

People who have these sorts of eyes. Each one of them has a special ability, and we were working on figuring out where it came from, what to do with them, that sort of thing.

[He doesn't even look that surprised as she explains it, thinking it over.]

Kind of like us and Personas.

Yeah. We got really close to figuring out the eye abilities before I came back here. It doesn't look like we're quite as lucky about Personas, though.

[ Even after fastforwarding to the future and talking with the Daitengu, everything surrounding Personas is still pretty ??? for Kido. ]

There's still a lot we don't know about any of this...

Yeah...

[ What are they doing in a bathhouse? ]

We'd better get back to thinking once this break is over.

...We've all been working quickly this month. It feels like we're making progress faster than usual.

[He's almost waiting for the other shoe to drop??]

But that might be because there's others here now, too.

[ THERE'S THE OTHER SHOE ]

We're all coming together, and we have the strength and experience to show for it. Hopefully it'll go more smoothly from here on out, too.

[The other shoe sure is a fuckin giant heel coming to crush them.]
