[ It was decided that the wedding would take place at the castle, somewhere that was quaint, small, and personal. Now that the bottom two floors have been restored, it looks nicer than its original run-down state. Added with all the decorations, all pink and yellow with plenty of cute things, it certainly has taken a completely new look, one that's appropriate for a celebration. ]

[ There'll be the actual wedding ceremony itself where everyone can sit in their seats with 52 cats that are wearing matching white knitted sweaters and then there'll be the party afterwards where everyone is allowed to eat and drink as much as they want. There is no particular dress requirement for the wedding except for one: everyone must wear a flower clown as soon as they enter the castle grounds. ]

[Toki comes running down the aisle to Yamato, but he's here for the cats. One cat in particular. A nondescript, thin black cat in a white sweater, like the rest of them are wearing.]

Kuroko! Your seat is up there~!

[The groom's cat gets front row seats. Toki removes her from the rest of the herd, and finally notices Yamato.]

Hello~! I'm glad you could come~! Did you ever adopt a cat!?

[ The cheerfulness of both Toki and Rei had made him think. He felt out of place amongst them, someone introverted and probably from a darker world. But the arrival of the cats had taken his mind off the unintentional brooding, so he's back to his usual quiet self. ]

Hello.

[ He holds up his arms so that the cats can get off his lap and he can stand up. ]

I'm happy to come. And I think I did... I've been feeding one, but it wouldn't follow me around.

[ Before he continues, he looks in his sling bag and pulls out a slim package. It's a fountain pen - he's never sure what to give people, but this looked useful. ]

Um, congratulations on your wedding.

[yokeye]

Maybe it's just a shy cat!

[Quiet people may attract them.]

[Toki takes the gift, and he will leave it on the table later for Rei to open. The fountain pen would get a lot of use if Toki were still having prophetic visions, but he's taken care of that for the most part. Maybe Rei keeps a diary.]

Are you doing okay here?

[Yamato seemed well adjusted, but Toki knows that can be faked. This wedding is an anomaly, a bright spot in the collective despair that is Hirajiro to most of the others.]

Yeah, I'm good.

[ This is something he says reflexively. He's used to keeping most things to himself, whether out of a lack of people he could trust, or that the people he could trust were already dealing with their own problems. Yamato is not only considerate, but also someone who strives to solve his problems by himself. ]

It's nice to see everyone enjoying themselves.

[yokeye]

[Toki takes that response at face value, even if it's not true or just something said so many times as false assurances. "I'm fine" is his. He hasn't really been happy in so long, he doesn't know if he ever had been. Though he always pretends to be.]

I think so too! Everyone looks happy~! There's going to be karaoke later, you should definitely sing something~!

[ Toki looks really happy. It's kind of contagious, but at the same time it gives him some sad memories. ]

I can't sing, though. I'll just listen.

[ Most of these activities were mostly done by civilians. Yamato is a hard worker when it comes to studying, then he joined the police force and a lot of things happened after that. ]

That's good enough! I just want everyone to have a great time!

[Before things get bad again.]

[ Yamato hasn't been able to stop feeling like they're all going to die soon, so it kind of helps. Though, even if he has that gut feeling, he's long since detached himself somewhat from his emotions, so it's fine. ]

You're nice.

[ He says after a pause, looking carefully at Toki. It's an evaluation, and a compliment. ]

[yokeye]

[Toki thinks it's a strange compliment, but he will take it. Yamato is clearly inexperienced in the social arena, or like Sasuke, doesn't wish to engage in it. That's okay.]

Um, thank you!

[He holds Kuroko close to him and awkwardly stands there, trying to think of good conversational topics that won't be embarrassing for Yamato talk about. In the end, he's defaulting to the things he knows best.]

So, is there a special lady in your life~!?

[It's a wedding. Romance talk is expected.]

[ Is there? That's actually a good question. Yamato frowns thoughtfully. ]

Hmm... no. I guess I haven't had a lot of time to think about those things.

[ He guesses Toki is thinking about love and marriage. If it wasn't about that though, the most important person in his life happens to be his sister. ]

I hope you find love someday~!

[Toki is very much a proponent of love. Families count, and a sister would have been an acceptable answer.]

[ A moment of silence as he thinks, tries to remember how his life was like before he was inducted into Neuron. It all seems so far away now, as if it had been in another life. ]

... I want my sister to be happy.

[ She's happy now, but only because she doesn't remember anything. ]

[yokeye]

[Toki's smile instantly falls at hearing that. Sometimes people from the same place have shown up here, but Toki thinks that's rare and Yamato will likely not see his sister again until the portal is opened. The portal Toki will do everything he can to keep closed.]

Do you miss her?

[Yamato hasn't been here that long, but time doesn't matter in these things.]

[ He closes his eyes for a moment. The first thing he sees is Akira screaming at him in Maison Forest, like many times before. It's hard to think of the other Akira as her, even if he tries to convince himself. ]

Yeah. I do. I wonder how she's doing.

[ If he's really gone, she'll be so mad at him... again. ]

[Poor Yamato will get a clingy hug now, because that's what Toki does. And he has no words of wisdom to impart or make Yamato feel better. Kuroko wrestles herself out of Toki's arms to avoid being squished and runs off towards the altar.]

[ It never made any sense to him, why he was chosen for all those damn heroics over his sister. They were twins, after all. They were the same. There shouldn't be any difference between them.

Yamato suppresses his self-defense instinct, lets himself stand there while Toki hugs him. It doesn't really surprise him, given Toki's temperament. Maybe, this is all that the other can do, given their predicament. ]
