12/25 fake timeline xmas party

[ On Christmas day, all the Persona users have been invited over to the Black Cat Clubhouse to get together and celebrate the fact that we all miraculously made it to see Christmas, somehow. The kotatsu has been brought over from next door so that there are two sitting in the middle of the living room with enough space to comfortably fit a dozen people, more if squashed together, and the rest of the house is toasty warm from all the cooking and baking that was done over the hours prior. Set on the dining room table in buffet style is an assortment of traditional Christmas food (according to Google), such as fried chicken, potato salad, fancy wagashi, and strawberry shortcake Christmas cake, along with traditional actual dinner items for people who want actual food, like sushi, sukiyaki, grilled fish, curry on rice, and croquettes.

There's a karaoke machine set in the living room alongside a projector for movies, if anybody even knows what a VCR player is to be able to connect the two and show movies, and the snow is falling pretty heavily over the afternoon and evening for those who want to go out and play. Have snowball fights! Or build snowmen and igloos! Or destroy said snowmen and igloos with snowballs! For anybody being too disruptive, or is antisocial and trying to hide, you're liable to be hit by a Wolvaan spell that turns you into a cute dog so people can swarm you for hugs and pets instead. The culprit is a happy little golden retriever trotting around the house that goes by the name of Ala. Please pet her too.

If there's alcohol or mistletoe at this party, somebody else is going to have to step up and take responsibility.

[ LMAO that's just me being an idiot, but I will continue to call it different things to keep it up so Rei takes her little fire stick and marvel at it. It is outrageous that none of the nurses brought these for her because she would have had a blast and I guess lose her hair much faster. ]

T-chan, I can see your heart! Wait, wait, let me try one too!

[ She's like an excited little kid with a new toy. She draws a heart as well and is pretty much over the moon. She wants these fireworks every single night. ]

[ Terry watches Rei having fun while drawing a simple infinity symbol in the air. He's so glad that she's having fun. ]

I can see yours too!

[ Now the flaming glowstick will draw a cat head. Meow. ]

[ The only type of cat that Terry can get close without wanting to die. Rei laughs and draws little flowers because of course, she would. ]

I didn't know they had fireworks like these! Are these only in this world or in other worlds?!

[ Because if Inaba had sparkling matchsticks and she never got to see a single one there, then the nurses are jerks for not letting her have one in her hospital room, surrounded by flammable things. ]

There were things like this back in mine too. They were fun to play with. I think there were similar things in other worlds too, so maybe that's the case!

[ A common underlying theme: they must have sparklers.

Terry draws small flowers right next to Rei's. It's a little garden! ]

[ If your world doesn't have spark sticks then Rei is not interested. You might as well not go back to your lame world. ]

What other kinds of fireworks are there?! We should try all of them!

Hm... there are all kinds, really. I don't think I can name them all... Some of them are a little dangerous to fire. I remember they used to be illegal to fire in the streets because something could catch on fire.

[ Who knows. ]

Wait, but we're in the streets! Should we stop?

[ They already have a bad rep with the townspeople. Pretty sure if they commit arson, even during the Lockdown, things will get real bad. ]

We can use one of these. I'll be careful, and if it looks like it'll set something on fire, don't worry about it.

[ Terry sets up the rocket one and lets it fly into the sky, exploding into a wide array of colors in a flower shape. ]

[ "If it looks like it'll set something on fire, don't worry about it"... so I guess Rei has to set something on fire and she'd just be like "no worries!" Thanks, Terry. ]

It's so pretty! Can I use one?

[ So she can set something on fire. ]

Okay, you can use your sparkler to light one.

[ A lighter is hard to use for someone who has never used one... probably. Terry is mentally prepared to speed after the firework to intercept it from hitting anything apart from the sky. ]

[ Yeah, he probably should be prepared because it is very likely that Rei would shoot something other than the sky, but she's very careful. She doesn't want to accidentally destroy something so she takes her time. She sets it up, makes sure that it's aiming at the sky, then lights it up with her sparkler before she runs back to Terry's side. It goes off without any problems and it lights up the night sky in bright colours. ]

Look, I did it! I set off my first firework!

[ She will remember this forever. ]

You did! Good job, Rei!

[ It really is a different feeling, setting off a firework yourself and watching it get launched into the sky as opposed to someone else doing it for you. Terry understands the sentiment and grins. ]

We can set off a fountain type this time. It won't go into the sky, but it'll spew a lot of things from the ground, like a fountain! Though we need to stay a little away from it because it can get big, depending on the size.

A chocolate fountain but with fireworks?!

[ This is the only type of fountain that is important to her. ]

Yeah, and you absolutely cannot eat it. Watch.

[ Terry makes sure Rei stands far and lights a fountain firework. Then he immediately goes back to her side and watches it light up.

Ta-da. ]

Oh, it's so pretty!

[ Thank you for linking me a gif, Haki, because I was like ??? firework fountain... what is this firework fountain... but it's beautiful and Rei loves it. Also, to make this more ~exciting~, Rei's Teddiursa has wandered out of the house.]

[ He's not affected by the Lockdown since none of the other Pokemon are so he manages to creep out of the Black Cat home. He has been doing really well at hiding, either going into his Pokeball or under a couch, so he hasn't actually been properly introduced to a lot of people. He's too shy to actually meet anyone, but he's starting to get hungry and Rei isn't in the house, so he has to look around! Honey is not enough for him so he walks around, following the scent of his trainer. All is going well so far but then he nearly walks straight into the fountain's large range of fireworks, not particularly looking where he's going because he's just using his nose to lead. He lets out a scream, falling backwards, and now he's just going to... cry. Loudly. Thanks, Terry. ]

[ Bear.

Terry looks off to the direction where Teddiursa is before he even makes himself known, because he smells a bear. Upon seeing that it's just Teddiursa, aka the eternal honeypot, he relaxes. There wouldn't be normal animals out during Lockdown. Right. He almost forgot. But then he sees that dumb bear walk into the fireworks like... why? It's so bright and noticeable--how do you just walk into it. Terry stares at Teddiursa who's crying and he doesn't want Rei to get in range of the fireworks, so he'll just rush over there and bring the bear over instead. His nulls are so great with fireworks. ]

Isn't he supposed to stay in his... ball thing?

[ Teddiursa weighs like a 9kg sandbag and Terry holds in the urge to toss him up in the air. ]

[ He walks right into it because he had his eyes closed. He can smell better when his eyes are closed and he focuses on strictly following the scent. He's been hearing loud sounds for the past little while so he just assumed that the explosions of the fountain were another one of those far off fireworks. Luckily, Terry manages to grab him before he becomes a very burnt bear. ]

Oh, Teddiursa!

[ Rei is so relieved that Terry grabbed him. She definitely wouldn't have reacted fast enough to grab him. She'll reach out to take the bear off Terry's hands so he doesn't have to deal with all the honey seeping out of his paws. Besides, Teddiursa is already pawing towards Rei. Terry does not interest him. ]

Umm, he does sometimes but he also comes out by himself. I don't think it's very comfortable to stay in his ball.

[ It looks so tiny! ]

Is that how it works...?

Terry lets Teddiursa down right next to Rei. ]

I don't think I'll ever understand how these things work...

[ As soon as Teddiursa is put down, he immediately runs over to Rei and holds out his sticky paws, silently asking to be picked up. She complies and lifts him, holding him like one would hold a baby against their shoulder. Teddiursa is a literal baby. ]

Me neither... but the parenting books that you got me helped a bit, like how to hold a baby and stop them from crying and properly care for them. Even though he's a bear, he's kind of the same.

[ A 9kg baby................ ]

Even though he's different, there's a lot of similar things, huh... Maybe you can try to care for him as if he's an actual baby and then think of whether you want actual kids or not.

Mmhm... T-Tokidoki and I already talked a little about having kids...

[ It was just whether or not that should have any and when they should start seriously discussing it. They decided that after they get settled and have a home together, that'd be a nice time. Of course, that will probably never happen with (waves hands at Hirajiro), but it was nice to think about. ]

[ The fountain firework finally fizzes out and Terry just stares at Rei in surprise. Terry is still working on the possibility of living in Hirajiro forever, so he doesn't see anything wrong with future plans together. ]

Try to have that sort of talk once every year. Your thoughts and feelings might change or mature by the time it comes around again. It's always good to have some serious discussions every now and then, but not all the time.

[ The honeymoon phase is a dangerous phase. Love has always been blind. ]

[ She nods. She completely understands where he's coming from. Having kids is a very big responsibility and Toki wasn't entirely sure about having any in the first place, so it's definitely something they have to discuss over time. She doesn't think her answer will ever change, though, because a loving family is one of the only things that she ever wanted. She has Kido and Terry as her older siblings, but it'd be nice to have her own family, to have a child that she can love and never abandon like her own mother did to her. She'd never leave them and always make sure that they feel wanted and loved. Even if they fall sick, she won't ever desert them in a hospital. ]

Mmhm. I... don't think I'll change my mind, but Tokidoki wasn't sure so we were going to talk again after we have our own home and we're prepared.

[ ... ]

... if we can stay in Hirajiro or go to another world.

... I'll work hard so that we can stay in Hirajiro and live out a happy life.

[ It's far too idealistic, but Terry has a goal to work towards and he has things on his side, even if he has things against him. But still, he'll do his best to work toward it. ]

It'll be okay.

[ She smiles at him. It's definitely idealistic and she knows that, but she appreciates the thought. Back then, before her dungeon, she would hold onto Terry's words and turn on him, get bitter and upset at why he would lie to her about something like this, but now, she's just happy at the attempt. ]

I hope so. It'd be nice to stay here for a bit longer. Maybe one day, I'll have to refer to you as ojisan instead of T-chan.
