i. 7/17 (bgm)
[ How did this happen...

Kido loves cats. She really does. But she does not like this one specific cat chasing after her with a knife in its mouth and unrelentingly following her for the past four blocks. Is this karma for not stopping on the street to give it head scratches?? ]

Ugh, stop it!

[ She turns on her heels to confront the cat, stomping her feet on the ground in an effort to scare it into dropping the knife or running away, but all the cat does is prance closer and make stabby moves at her ankles. ]

Drop it right now, cat! You're going to trip and hurt yourself and—

[ slice up her ankles, cool cool cool ]

ii. 7/18-7/21
[ Anywhere around town or the outskirts near the forest or the lake, maybe you're out here enjoying some quiet and alone time watching the crows fly overhead, and then all of the sudden something falls from the sky and it's not quiet and alone anymore and Kido appears out of thin air holding her head and screaming at the sky.

This just sort of happens throughout the next couple of days, an unusual number of crows circling the town and Kido suddenly appearing where there definitely was nobody standing there before, trying to fend off things falling from the sky. Some of them are cool, like an mp3 player or a charger cord, but then there's also an umbrella and after that, Kido starts carrying that around to protect her head from falling objects. It sort of helped with the dartboard except that was really heavy and still hurt, and the three darts that accompanied it punctured the umbrella and now it's useless in the rain.

Another crow lands on her shoulder and drops a stack of bills amounting to ¥10,000 onto her lap. ...The bills get stuffed into her pocket and this crow gets a head pat before it flies off.

But not this last one, who keeps trying to deliver Kido a pair of glasses that she immediately turns and yeets into the middle of the lake. The crow flies over and plucks it out of the water and brings it back before Kido can run away. Maybe it thinks they're playing fetch. Kido does not want this. ]

iii. 7/17-7/22, Lockdown
[ The only reprieve that Kido gets from the weirdly aggressive animals in the town is during Lockdown, when the only birds she has to worry about are the Shadows overhead. Unlike her first few days here, she's much less scared of them than before— not that she's gotten any better or more confident at fighting, but because she does not need to. ]

Hey, let's team up.

[ She makes this request at the school gates, a key swinging on her finger. No more hopping fences. ]

I can guarantee you that we can walk through to the end of this place without being noticed or attacked. If you want to fight, I can guarantee the first strike. But either way, I need others around to discuss what we should do.

[ It's late into the month. Everybody else in the town seems to have slowed to a crawl, this place has not disappeared yet, and a there's also that gate at the very end that they can't get through. They have to do something about this. ]

For prompt iii: this can be either a one-on-one thread, or a group of two characters + Kido! Essentially she's getting them through the dungeon by using her canon ability to make them unable to be heard or seen, and then leeching off their kills bc her Persona has growth 3 and can gain experience doing nothing haha ]

[ The crow caws and hops up onto Leon's head instead, not all that heavy but its talons are definitely pokey as it steps around in place trying to find a comfortable spot on his head. ]

Yeah, I'm fine. [ Kido takes his hand anyways, since it's offered, and because her other hand is holding the pair of glasses— which she immediately chucks into the distance.

There's some agitated clawing and flapping on Leon's head, then the crow flies off again to retrieve it. ]

Ouch, ouch, stay still!!

[ It doesn't actually hurt, but you know how you just say it although it doesn't? That's how it is for him, and that he's generally hyperbolic. He looks at Kido, as he helps her up, looking forward for her to wear the glasses...

...only to see her tossing it away. Gaaann! Σ(ﾟ口ﾟ; ]

OwowowOW I'm gonna get bald, I'm gonna get bald~!!

[ And off the crow goes to retrieve... Ow, now that really hurt. His eyes are a tiny bit teary, but it's okay, he already forgets about that because-- ]

Ahh, I see!! [ He pounds his fist on his palm, eyes sparkling. ] You're playing fetch!!

[ NO THEY ARE NOT ahhhh
But it's a good enough excuse for Kido, who tugs her hood a little to make sure her head is covered and none of her hair is in danger, and gives Leon a weak, forced smile. ]

I guess it's something like that. Hey, play with it for me, will you? I'm kind of tired.

[tantantaaan]

Gotcha! Leave it to me!!

[ He'll wait for the crow to come back, waving at the crow in anticipation. When it's getting close, he gets ready to run from it, but just as he begins running he realises... the target is Kido, and Kido only. He's completely ignored. ]

Eeeh?! No no no, not her, me!! [ Leon runs up to the crow that's insisting to drop the glasses on Kido's head instead, pointing at himself as if birds can get it. ] M-e! Not her!!

[reveilation]

[ Kido sighs as she reaches up to pick the pair of glasses off her head, and taps it on Leon's arm. ]

Just take it. I'll leave, and you can try throwing it after, and see if it'll play with you.

[ It's just going to keep following Kido but she doesn't know that yet and has her fingers crossed she can make it home somehow before then and just never leave. ]

[tantantaaan]

[ He accepts the glasses dutifully. ]

Ah. You're going home already? Okay then! Bye bye!!

[ Like a kid in primary school, he's doing a big wave with his arm, before turning to beam at the crow. ]

Heh heh. Time to play with me, Crow-san!!

[ Though Leon's more of a soccer boy than he is a baseball boy, he still has relatively good reflexes, so his throw isn't actually too bad. In fact, he manages to throw it far enough it'll take time for the crow to fetch it.

It's time to run, Kido!! ]

[ Bye-bye!!!! Kido turns tail and runs; she plans to go hide out at "home," a small house near the school where she'd taken on a babysitting job for two kids— but with that thought, she pulls out her (Terry's) phone to check the time and clicks her tongue when she sees that it's about time for the elementary school to let out and she has to pick the kids up to take them home.

Ughhhh, ahhhhhhhh

It shouldn't be that long a detour, she decides, turning her toes towards the direction of the school. Leon's keeping the crow occupied and— with a quick glance at the sky- there are no other crows currently circling her head like vultures, so maybe she'll be able to make it without anything else happening. ]

[tantantaaan]

Ah!! I forgot to ask for her name... Oh well, I'll probably see her again. Now let's see, where the Crow-saー

[ Just as he turns, he sees the same crow, speeding towards him, even faster than it was before. ]

?!!?!!? Uhhh, eh?!

[ Before Leon can even get out of the way, BOOF!! goes the crow headbutting his stomachー ]

BUHEK--!!

[ ーand leaves him to drop on his knees. Cruel... a single tear involuntarily hang from the corner of his eye. ]

It hurts...

[ But he wastes no time to get back up and resume the pursue. THIS BOY IS NOW ON FIRE. ]

Hey!!! That's so mean!! Get back here!!! You're cheating!!

[ Leon will attempt to capture the crow a couple of times while on the chase, and every time he has his hands on it, it'll always manage to slip out. It's definitely buying some time, though. Depending on how quick Kido's going, she might be able to get far enough!! But with how loud they (Leon) are (is)... she might be able to hear them still. ]

Ngrrgh!! Ha!! I got it!!

[ He's... definitely losing his initial objective. He just. Forcefully snatches the glasses from the crow's thin legs, dashing away with it. What happened to fetch???

The situation now turns 180, the crow's chasing Leon down with (maybe) murder intent. ]

Akkkanbeeee! [ Nbd, he's just gonna be a primary school kid, puling down his lower eyelid and sticking out his tongue. ] Catch me if you can!!

[ Reasons why Kido doesn't give out her name: this. Everybody new she meets is so weird and she doesn't need them yelling her name and chasing after her when she has enough to deal with, like trying to escape birds while running down the road to the school and looking around for her two—

"Wow, look at that!" a little boy shouts, holding onto his little sister's hand and pointing up at the sky with the other.

Kido is... very afraid to turn but she slows to a stop in front of the two of them and turns anyways. Ahh, there's the crow. And there's probably that other guy in the distance, whose face she can't see very well but that's definitely his voice.

"Tsubomi..." the little girl tugs at Kido's sleeve. "Help him?" ]

...No, I think he'll be fine.

[tantantaaan]

[ As quick as Leon is, it's not an easy feat to outrun an enraged crow. The longer the chase goes, the more he loses his confidence. The crow keeps diving to snatch the glasses from him, it's smart... ]

Wah!! Heh heh, try me!

[ He's still acting big, even if it's getting harder to evade, adrenaline pumping. Unfortunately, he's also very easily distracted by things, which means... he's gonna be distracted when he spots Kido from a distance.

Which he does. ]

Ah!! That hoodie... the girl from earlier!

[ And the crow sees that as a chance to snipe the glasses from him, ] Noー!! [ zooming towards Kido to attempt to drop it on her again. ]

[reveilation]

[ Kido makes to turn around, but she's held in place by two kids clinging onto either pant leg, laughing and shouting up at the sky when they see the bird come over and land on the top of Kido's head, trying to place the glasses on her face for her but it just keeps poking her on the cheek. ]

Stop- Stop it!

[ She grabs the glasses off her face and hands it to the little girl, who promptly puts it on and looks delighted. The crow seems satisfied with it too, and flies away. ]

I was hoping you wouldn't bring it here... [ She sighs, shakes her head at Leon. ] How'd you find me?

[tantantaaan]

[ Leon gasps when the crow starts poking her cheek, loudly exclaiming: ]

No!!! Bad crow!! Bad crow!!

[ And by the time he catches up with Kido, the crow's gone and the little girl has the glasses now. What was that all about... ]

Eh? Sorry? [ She doesn't want the glasses back? Wasn't she playing fetch with the crow? Leon doesn't really get it... ] I don't know! I was running from the crow, then I saw you from afar... the crow then just took the glasses and... zoom!! [ He explains the rest with gestures. ] The crow's not yours?

[reveilation]

[ Zoom... Kido closes her eyes and sighs, but at least the two kids she has with her look excited about this story, though she imagines they don't understand a single word of it. ]

No, it's not mine. It's been chasing me around all day, trying to get me to take those glasses. I'll have to stop feeding them from now on...

[tantantaaan]

[ He beams brightly at Kido, then at the kids. Being of a similar mental age, they'll probably get along... ]

Do you always feed the crow? [ :O!! ] You're so kind!! ...Ah, that's right! I'm Leon! [ He makes an L-shape with his fingers, winking at Kido while he's at it. ] What are your names?

[ asdflkjh I'm having flashbacks to elementary school where making an L-shape with your fingers is calling somebody a loser, but thankfully Kido doesn't associate it with that. She doesn't get a chance to speak, either, because the little girl pipes up cheerfully, "Suzume!! I'm Suzume! And this- this is my niichan, Hayato! And- and- and my aneki, Tsubomi!!" ]

Kido.

[ She places a hand on the girl's head to shut her up for a moment. ]

You can call me Kido.

[ sla;jfsd I didn't know that was a thing, did you guys have this thing where you stick your thumb up and blow on it as a sign that 'we're no longer friends' in primary school? HAHA I wonder how universal that is...

Seeing the enthusiasm of the kids make Leon feel amped, too. He's basking in all these sunny energy!! ]

Wah!! You guys are so energetic!! [ He chuckles, and points at them one by one as he says their names: ] Suzume-tan, Hayato-kun, and Tsubomi-tan? Nice to meet--

[ Why is the nickname getting shorter!!! "Kido" is nice and short and she doesn't even expect honorifics behind it, it's a win-win for everybody involved. And unfortunately for Leon, the two kids clinging to Kido's pants exchange nervous glances between each other, and then pipe up "Niichan, you shouldn't make Tsubomi angry!" "Mm, that's dangerous!"

They're... going to stay a neutral party. Kido can be mean when she's angry, they agree, so it would be better to just stay on her good side. ]

[ With no allies on his side, Leon has no choice but to give up, drooping his puppy ears. ]

Kido-tan, then...

[ He pouts, but not for long because suddenly his eyes glimmer again. ]
