[ You know what? Now's a good a time for this as any. When the Attendants send the call out to everybody on 9/4, Kido takes advantage of everybody being together to give them the address to the house she, Terry, and Rei are staying at, and asks them to meet there on 9/8 at noon if they're able to make it.

The original point of a meeting was to recruit for a gang, but with shit going down and people disappearing and personalities splitting off, it's turned into Kido needing to reach out to anybody who's a Persona user and consolidate everything that they know about everything. Personas. Shadows. The town itself. Anything.

If you're directionally challenged, it'll be easy to spot the house on Sunday afternoon because it's the only house on the block with two dozen crows perched on every inch of roof and telephone line there is around the house, and a five meter wide spider crab hanging around on the front yard, its front pincers bound so it can't snap at anybody, but it still scuttles around irately. ]

Sorry about the lack of furniture... Take a seat where you can find space, either on the couch or the floor. There's rice, miso soup, and gyudon in the kitchen if you're hungry; go ahead and help yourselves. We've got lots to talk about today.

[ Oh. Damn, and here she and Terry almost killed Sasuke's Shadow. Kido shuffles her feet a little, anxious. ]

This is a tangent, but... Is that sort of Shadow different from all the other ones we've been fighting? Is it alright to be killing them?

That Shadow is more intimately connected to Sasuke.

Usually, Shadows represent people's distortion — the shittiest parts of themselves they don't want other people to hold them accountable for.

I've taken out Shadows like that, but I don't think Sasuke is so far gone that his Shadow needs to die. Plus, with Sasuke so close... hurting the Shadow might hurt him, right?

[The hand not occupied with holding chopsticks goes winding into Akira's hair. This is stressing him out a little, but it's important.]

[ Sasuke's Shadow sure was a shit head, Kido can agree with that. ]

Yeah, when Terrence and I fought the Shadow, Sasuke nearly collapsed. That's a thin line, isn't it? Between killing it and... not.

[ Are they supposed to not kill it, or what? How?? Sorry this is so stressful, Persona senpai, please have more gyudon as compensation. ]

[You have to realize, Kido, that he will never turn down any compensation food. Ever. So he will keep eating your gyudon, yes, thank you.]

Which is why you negotiate with them both.

We need to resolve the Shadow issue without hurting the Shadow. So, if the two of them can get on the same wavelength, and accept each other... you see what I mean?

[ The real reason why this meeting wasn't immediately called on the 4th is because she needed time to cook enough food to fill Akira's stomach ]

It was kind of difficult...

[ Kido definitely did not help in that conversation with Sasuke and his Shadow. Actually, she thinks she just added fuel to the fire by being there. ]

It was saying a whole bunch of crap. I wouldn't have accepted it either. Are Shadows always so nasty?

By nature, yes, they're nasty.

But humans are nasty by nature, too.

This is just me, but I think accepting your shitty parts is step one to fixing them.

Kido can't really deny that, can she? Kids can be cruel, and they're the ones who are supposed to be yet unmarred by society. But, hmm, she glances over at Terry for a split second before looking back at Akira. ]

What if the shitty part isn't something that can be fixed? What if it just... is?

...Then it becomes a matter of willing yourself to be a good person despite it, and minimize the damage when it's out of your control.

[His tone has shifted. It's more serious now.]

[He sounds like he's speaking from experience?]

[ Hm. Hm!!!! She looks troubled for a moment, but ultimately, this sort of news is comforting, that being a good person might be enough to suppress the Shadow. ]

I see... So basically, you just need to take it easy during the full moon, then you won't lose control.

[ A couple of days out of the month, that's both so few and too many days at the same time. ]

I don't know how it is. But I hope that's enough.

All that happened to us during the full moon was just Arsène being even more of a pretentious asshole than usual...

Like trying to hurt you, or refusing to come out at all? Some people have been having trouble with that too, even though I told them what you said about getting along. My Persona hasn't given me any trouble at all.

[ Some people = Terry, but evidently Sasuke too. Kido sounds a little proud of the fact that her Persona's pretty well behaved, mostly because I keep forgetting about the full moon, but also because she always tries to keep in mind Akira's advice. ]

He always thinks he's hot shit. But during the full moon his ego just gets worse.

He doesn't hurt me, but he sure doesn't treat me like his equal, which is fucking annoying, Arsène.

[...Wait. Akira blinks, and focuses on Kido again.]

You were... telling people that?

[ Kido smiles a little when he calls his Persona out like that, because despite his words, she can tell that they're close. The smile drops a little when he asks her that, though. ]

Uh... yeah. It's good advice, isn't it? Not being scared of your Persona and learning to get along with them, because working together is always better than working alone.

....Well, that's true. I just didn't expect... I don't know.

[Ah. He almost seems a little embarrassed, now that he's thinking more about it.]

[ If you're the Persona senpai, your words are going to be treated like the gospel. It's a huge responsibility, but she trusts him more than she does Minato or Souji, at this point. ]

It did, a lot. We're all sort of figuring this out, so any advice you can give would be helpful. I was really glad you were able to come here today, because of that.

I figure it's kind of my responsibility at this point.

[He shrugs and gazes deep into the half eaten beef bowl.]

I don't know everything. But I want to help, because apart from the wardens, I might be one of the few who can. You know?

Yeah, and we're lucky to have you. You're not like them- those "wardens"- who should know more than we do but are so tight lipped about everything.

[ They should have info dumped instead of assigning people homework. "Warden" seems a lot more fitting than "Attendant" does. ]

In either case... Sorry about the extra pressure. But we'll be relying on you. If there's anything we need to do, just let us know.

I could easily have just let you guys figure it out yourselves. But that's how people get in real danger, and I'm tired of that shit.

Kido laughs under her breath, folding her arms across her chest. ]

[ She will not hesitate to punch him in the gut, and it's a promise she makes with everybody on their team. They've all got to keep each other in check. ]

[I mean it was always going to be from Reviv, so it had to be Akira. But rest assured that the situation would be wildly different if Joker was here instead. Then Kido would learn what Akira was talking about, when he spoke of awfulness that can't be removed but merely kept under control.]

[ They're both totally serious and Kido especially needs somebody to keep her in line, because she's an Emperor and she can be pretty stuck on certain things. ]

Yep. That's what a team does, keeping each other accountable. We'll make a good team, as soon as Sasuke comes up with a cool name.
