[ You know what? Now's a good a time for this as any. When the Attendants send the call out to everybody on 9/4, Kido takes advantage of everybody being together to give them the address to the house she, Terry, and Rei are staying at, and asks them to meet there on 9/8 at noon if they're able to make it.

The original point of a meeting was to recruit for a gang, but with shit going down and people disappearing and personalities splitting off, it's turned into Kido needing to reach out to anybody who's a Persona user and consolidate everything that they know about everything. Personas. Shadows. The town itself. Anything.

If you're directionally challenged, it'll be easy to spot the house on Sunday afternoon because it's the only house on the block with two dozen crows perched on every inch of roof and telephone line there is around the house, and a five meter wide spider crab hanging around on the front yard, its front pincers bound so it can't snap at anybody, but it still scuttles around irately. ]

Sorry about the lack of furniture... Take a seat where you can find space, either on the couch or the floor. There's rice, miso soup, and gyudon in the kitchen if you're hungry; go ahead and help yourselves. We've got lots to talk about today.

Huh... I'm glad you feel better, at least. It's not really the same, but do you think onions will work?

[ There's a difference in the types of tears, but still!! Sometimes, you start to cry and then you just keep going, and maybe the tears will turn into the relieving sort. ]

Don't give up so easily before you try things. Wasn't that one of the things your Shadow was telling you?

[He genuinely does not see why she wants to make him cry here.]

It's similar. Tears are tears. I have onions, and I have pepper. I'll let you choose.

Yeah.

...We can use onions. Do you have anything you can make with them?

Yep. At the rate everybody's eating, I'll probably have to make more gyudon soon, so I'll use them in that.

[ They can cut up so many onions, the entire kitchen will be a biohazard. She stands up and waves Sasuke towards the kitchen. ]

Are you any good at cooking?

[not_that_sasuke]

...Not really. I only help cook for school things.

[Home ec, or making food for the dorms.]

If it's just cutting, I should be able to do that.

[Because if nothing else, he's good with knives!]

Cutting is good enough. Here, I'll leave the onions to you. It'll all cook down, so you don't have to worry about the slices being uneven or anything.

[ While Kido works on the meat and the sauce and all that other stuff. Having somebody else handle onions is great, thanks, Sasuke. ]

[Woo...

He'll get to chopping them, then, keeping his head tilted back juuuust a bit to further avoid getting prickly eyes. He's also doing a fine job of chopping them evenly, thank you very much.

While his eyes are definitely a bit irritated, he's not crying.]

[ ...Kido washes her hands, dries them, then places one on the back of Sasuke's head to push it down a little closer towards the onions. The point was prickly eyes. ]

[not_that_sasuke]

[Ah. Caught.

He pauses a bit so he doesn't cut himself, but reluctantly, he'll finish chopping them. Definitely feeling a bit teary now, but it's just a little watery.]

[reveilation]

[ Kido leans over and watches Sasuke's face. A little teary, but that's not the same as crying. ]

...Alright. When you're done slicing them, add them to the pan with the sauce and spread them out a little before covering the pan.

[not_that_sasuke]

Okay.

[It sure isn't. A bit more chopping and he's done, swiping what little water's in his eyes away with his upper arm before carrying the onion to the pan, scraping them in and being careful to keep them spread out just like Kido asked. Once that's done, he covers it, looking to her for further instruction.]

I'll add the meat once the onion's done cooking, but we can get started in the eggs in the meantime. Fill a pot with water and heat it on the stove on high. It'll be a couple of minutes before it starts to boil, so let me know when it does.

[not_that_sasuke]

Okay. Anything else you need me to get while it's heating up?

[Though he'll get to finding a pot to fill up!]

We'll need the eggs, but leave them in the fridge for now, until the water's boiled. There should be some green onion left in there if you could chop that up for me too.

[ We're just teaching Sasuke how to cook in this thread ig. It's nice having help. ]

[not_that_sasuke]

[He only knows the very basics, so it's honestly a good thing for him to learn?! With a nod, he'll find the green onion to chop up, keeping an eye on the water so he's ready to fetch the eggs once it boils. Thankfully, green onions are kinder on the eyes, so no tears!!]

[ Better commit this all to memory then, Sasuke, and then he can make his own gyudon in the Velvet Room kitchen if he ever feels like eating anything ever.

But Kido just spends the rest of the time guiding Sasuke through the process, like how to check when the onion is cooked through, how to cook the meat so it doesn't dry out and get tough, how to soft boil the eggs so that the yolks stay nice and soft, how to make fluffy rice that doesn't stick to the bottom of the pot, etc. ]

[He will! Although he doesn't ever look especially enthusiastic or anything, it's clear he's watching and listening intently when it comes to the explanations, occasionally asking questions for clarity.]

I'm surprised you had time to make so much of this...

Well... I was hoping to have the meeting earlier, but it ended up being today so I had enough time to get everything ready. It's a lot easier cooking for a lot of people at once, than just yourself, anyways.

[ She just needed to make multiple grocery store trips to have enough ingredients, that was probably the most time consuming part of preparing all of this. ]

[not_that_sasuke]

Really? Then again, the only times I ever cooked this much, it was in a group.

Yeah? You said at school, right? Great. Since you have experience, you can help me out again the next time we get together.

[ If he's going to be in this gang, Kido's going to make sure he pulls his weight ]
