[ You know what? Now's a good a time for this as any. When the Attendants send the call out to everybody on 9/4, Kido takes advantage of everybody being together to give them the address to the house she, Terry, and Rei are staying at, and asks them to meet there on 9/8 at noon if they're able to make it.

The original point of a meeting was to recruit for a gang, but with shit going down and people disappearing and personalities splitting off, it's turned into Kido needing to reach out to anybody who's a Persona user and consolidate everything that they know about everything. Personas. Shadows. The town itself. Anything.

If you're directionally challenged, it'll be easy to spot the house on Sunday afternoon because it's the only house on the block with two dozen crows perched on every inch of roof and telephone line there is around the house, and a five meter wide spider crab hanging around on the front yard, its front pincers bound so it can't snap at anybody, but it still scuttles around irately. ]

Sorry about the lack of furniture... Take a seat where you can find space, either on the couch or the floor. There's rice, miso soup, and gyudon in the kitchen if you're hungry; go ahead and help yourselves. We've got lots to talk about today.

Even if I didn't have it, I wouldn't throw Kurou at a crow to get one.

He doesn't need my help to hunt.

But they fly really high... can Kurou jump higher than a building??

[ Kurou the super cat?! ]

They have to land eventually.

[He's not a bakeneko yet.]

But that takes way too long...

[ He'd think it would be awesome if Kurou was a bakeneko, because that's just the sort of guy he is. ]

He must have a lot of patience, huh?

[It would be pretty awesome if he became a bakeneko, yes. He's already surrounded by others like that at school, so...]

Yeah. He needs to, to do the work he does.

[ Terry glances over at the corner of the living room, where there are five cats: a mother cat and her four kittens. They're just minding their own business while one of the kittens is hiding behind the mom, smushing itself into the corner even more. Looks like it's scared of strangers and seeing so many of them at once is probably too stimulating for the poor thing. ]

I wish the cats here could do that too, but Ami does a good job of being a therapy cat at least.

[He follows Terry's gaze.]

I had to train with Kurou from a young age... But you might be able to teach them a few things.

They're not really my cats though... they're strays. Can they still be trained??

[ Four are kittens, so... maybe... ]

I feel like the mom won't appreciate that though.

We found Kurou and Shirou as strays in the forest.

Kurou and Shirou, huh...

[ Like brothers? But he thought he heard a portion of Yuusuke's name, and he thinks it won't be a good idea to push onto that. ]

I guess I could try.

[ Some doubt. ]

I can write down some of the things we did when training them if you want.

Yeah! That would work.

[ If it worked for them, it could work on the other kittens, right? Terry looks over at them and one of them still looks terrified.

Let me get some paper and pen.

[ He stands up to go to his room and come back with the same notepad and pen he used when he was jotting down notes when they discussed plot things in the forest. He flips it to a blank page and hands it over to Sasuke with the black pen. ]

[And he'll go ahead and write down instructions in neat print. Most of it's teaching with treats and rewarding the desired behaviors, although none of the instructions seem to go into enough detail to be able to communicate the way Kurou and Sasuke seem to...]

[ Which is fair, because it's not like Terry has that kind of connection with the kittens under his care. He's a terrible foster dad, ditching them on many occasions... good thing they have their mom.

Though he'll keep waiting and drink some water while he's at it. ]

[He actually spends a little time trying to remember all the techniques he can, writing them down diligently until he's satisfied. After that, he nods to Terry, handing over the paper.]

This should be most of it... My family helped with some of it, and I couldn't tell you about that.

[Because ninja techniques he may or may not have actually learned properly.]

[ Terry takes the paper and looks over it. They're pretty simple and easy to understand. Not to mention that Sasuke has neat handwriting so he doesn't have to struggle for word interpretation. It's a pretty nice list. ]

It's something I've been drilled on a lot, I guess.

[Both by his family and more recently as a side effect of being back in essentially grade school, except with literal animals as classmates.]

Did you have to study etiquettes and stuff too?

[ Is that how strict families were?? Terry looks amazed. He thinks he wouldn't last under that kind of household... ]

Yeah. We had to study a lot of things on top of normal school stuff.

[Though his family's a weird case even among strict ones.]

It sounds as if you were from a rich family...

[ That's his impression of how strict families are--not to mention all the secrecy about ninjas and stuff. Though, honestly... Sasuke doesn't look the part? Maybe it's because they're all far from home. ]

...It's an old family. I don't know the details of everything they do, but... there's a lot of traditions and missions that need to be taken care of. They were raising us to be able to do the same.

[He just ditched before he was ever assigned anything.]
