[ On December 1st, Hirajiro's residential district goes through a minor change, which is having Terry's two-story house appear right next to the Black Cat house. With Orien's help, Terry bought the land that the house sits on. Anyway, the house has two floors. The entire first floor has a living room, kitchen, and a bathroom with sink, toilet, and shower. When you climb up the stairs, you'll reach the second floor, which has four bedrooms with a bathroom connecting two bedrooms together. The bathrooms can be locked from the inside only. There is no master bedroom nor bathroom in this house. One of the rooms are soundproof, but Terry is not telling anyone which one it is. You'll have to find that out for yourself. AC and heater are fully functional.

Terry sent out a message to all the Guests. For those who don't have phones, Orien personally delivered the message to those people himself. The message is as follows:

We solved the housing situation. Terry will not ask anyone to pay rent, but the house isn't furnished at all except for a refrigerator and a fireplace. You'll have to buy supplies and furniture on your own. There are several conditions you need to accept if you choose to live here:

1) Please do not destroy the house or cause property damage. If you do, you're paying for the damages.
2) Clean up after yourselves. A clean house means no bugs and good standard of living.
3) Do not steal/take anything from the Black Cat house. (this needs to be mentioned because he had several door stealing incidents)

The address/general directions to the location has been mentioned, which is basically next door to the Black Cat house.

Feel free to make your own top levels and stuff. ]

[ It's not worrisome when Minato does it. He's pretty sure he saw Akira stand in the doorway for a split second looking at him earlier, before simply walking away. ]

I guess you should at least get a blanket. Shopping trip for that sort of thing sounds okay.

[ That means... Minato also has to get up from off the floor. Okay. He makes a big show of how much effort it takes, but he gets up onto his feet, leaning down to stretch his back and then his legs.

Then he turns to the door and it glows bright blue; it'll take them right out into the middle of the shopping district directly inside a store selling beds and mattresses and the like. They don't even have to go outside, since it's indoors to indoors. Portals are lazy and convenient and is maybe the best part about being an Attendant. ]

[Portals are truly so convenient... He wonders vaguely if the snake spirit could do something similar before reminding himself that he needs to take advantage of her powers less.]

Futons should be... over here?

[At least it's well-organized! There's not too many people milling around today, so that helps, too.

Though even as they walk, he glances over at Minato just in case this extremely random store choice jogs anything.]

[ He remembers... sleeping on an actual bed instead of on couches all the time.

Minato sighs, and keeps walking after Sasuke. He immediately wants this shopping trip to be over lmao the moment Sasuke gets his futon and it's inside the house, Minato is taking a nap on that futon. ]

[He'll gravitate towards the cheaper kinds, since he doesn't really need anything fantastic, just a little better than the hard ground.]

...What colors do you like, anyway?

[There's a few different design options. Nothing amazing, but tasteful enough.]

Why does it matter?

[ It's not Minato's futon, and colors don't change how comfortable something is. ]

You have a black cat, right? Might as well go with black.

Because I don't know what your favorite color is. ...It probably won't affect which one I get, though.

Oh. That's weird.

[ Wanting to know more about him, just out of the blue, when it doesn't matter. But it's not like favorite colors are a secret or anything— his answers are probably just going to be disappointing if Sasuke wants to know this sort of thing, because he has little preferences for most things. It's not like Minato is a private person; he'll answer what he's asked, but it's just the fact that he's a little boring. ]

I guess I don't really care about what color something is... Black is good when you have cats, 'cause of the fur. Bright yellow hurts the eyes a little, but it's useful at night so you don't get run over by cars. That sort of thing.

[ This is probably something more useful to learn than color preference: Minato favors utility over aesthetic. ]

So it doesn't matter to you what color it is as long as it's useful?

[That's interesting indeed. In the meantime, he selects a plain mattress and cover, the combined price coming out to about $50. The mattress is predictably kind of thin, but whatever, he'll deal.]

Yeah. I've been living in the Velvet Room for so long, that anything not overwhelmingly solid blue is a blessing.

[ Actual colors besides one single shade of blue is so nice. He hopes the house will be kept warm too so Sasuke will be okay with a thin mattress and what he assumes will be a normal blanket. ]

You can't decorate it with other colors?

I'm asleep most of the time, so it never mattered much to me... not to the point where I wanted to do something about it.

[ His eyes are always closed, so he tolerated it well. Souji... he's not sure. It's not like they have a fabric store accessible from the Velvet Room when they were floating around in a void. ]

Do you want me to bring decorations next time?

[Ah- but there's no line at this time of day, so don't mind him as he gets his stuff paid for. The transaction's pretty short at least, and once he's done he's looking expectantly at Minato.]

[ Minato keeps his hands in his pockets while Sasuke makes his purchase, because otherwise he'd be tempted to sneak a candy bar or something onto the counter for Sasuke to buy too. There's so many good snacks just hanging right there next to the register; it's tempting. ]

That'd be nice... You should probably talk to Souji about that sorta stuff. He has a better eye for what goes with what.

[ Minato likes... soft things he can rest his head on, mostly. ]

Maybe... But it would be nice to find something you'd like, too.

[ He has little opinion on this stuff, Sasuke... He'll be happy with whatever that's not dark velvet blue. Even light blue would be nice. ]
