[OPEN] Milky Rose Café ☆

[On December 2nd, Hirajiro's own maid café -- Milky Rose -- is running a promotional winter event! It's pretty hard to miss the café itself, considering its central location in Hirajiro's shopping district and also the fact that several characters actually work there. They've gone all out with the decoration today, as well, meaning it's even harder to miss.]

[A couple of perky NPC maids are standing out front handing flyers to everyone, dressed in pastel coats and matching frilly maid headpieces to brave the cold. They'll wink, wave, and engage passersby to come inside and leave their worries at the door for a while. They're also encouraging passersby to consider joining the café staff.]

[Once inside the warmth of the café, the maids and butlers return to the traditional French outfits that everyone comes for. Every patron is greeted with a "Welcome home, master!" or "Welcome home, mistress!" and served by either a maid or butler, whichever they specify. With each meal order, customers can request any of several great services: chat service, shoulder massages, or a special skit. You can also pay a fee to take photos with your maid/butler, request a particular maid or butler if they're working that night, or get them to wear a special outfit -- like a Cat Outfit, a Pastel Outfit, a Sengoku Outfit, and more affordable props like glasses or extra hair bows.]

[The food itself is... actually really good??? They've got a wide selection of coffees and desserts, as well as the perennial classic, omurice with a custom ketchup design by your maid or butler. There's also a variety of Japanese and European entrées.]

[If you're interested in observing cute maids but not in engaging with one yourself, Milky Rose also has a bar-type setup where you can have all the coffee, tea, food, and meidos you want for a reduced price! But the only one who talks to you is the Bar Maid, who doesn't give you as much specialized attention. And of course, the other patrons.]

[From 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, they're offering a special: no matter what you buy, be it a full meal or a cup of coffee or a slice of cake, you can offer up a skit idea for the onstage maid duo, Akemi-chan and Emily-chan, to act out for all the patrons! (From the stage, it's harder to see how tall they are!) There will be a toplevel below where you can take on the role of your player character or an NPC patron, put in a suggestion, and watch the girls go.]

Maid and tengu! A supernatural love story! The commoners do love those, don't they, Emily?

[Akemi looks over at her improv partner, pushing a hip out as she stands. She's grinning smugly, but internally she's trying to decide whether Terry would be worse off fucking the tengu or being the tengu. ...Eventually she decides being the tengu, and she puffs her (small, padded) chest out, pulling herself up to her full height. She moves over to the prop chest and pulls out a black feather boa, which she wraps around her neck dramatically. She also has a paper fan for dramatic effect.]

So be it, then! I am the Great Tengu of this most sacred mountain! None may defy me, none may judge me, and none may kiss me!!

[ Emily looks over at Akemi with a blank look for a split second, before returning to her customer service mask. She can't believe she has to be the birdfucker with an actual birdfucker. Anyway, she gets out a toy lightsaber from the nearby prop box and points it at Akemi as it lights up. ]

Not if I have anything to say about it, Great Tengu-sama! If I defeat you, you must marry me!

[ Emily is dying on the inside. ]

I think Emily-chan would be a much cuter Tengu!

AKEMI

[Before and after the onstage routine, you can (through chance or request) get service from Akemi-chan! She's quite a tall maid, with the longer skirt and poofy sleeves that can be a tell to regulars that she's actually a crossdressing maid. She has long maroon pigtails, both curled into tight ringlets. The archetypal act she puts on is more akin to a haughty ojou-sama forced into the role of a subservient maid, unless the customer specifically wants the 'nice version'.]

[The height is a pretty easy giveaway, the voice somewhat less so, and she does have grey eyes -- though have you ever really seen her eyes behind the thick glasses? You might be able to guess who Akemi really is.]

[At some point, a customer requests a chat service with a random maid or butler. No special outfits or props necessary. Akemi just so happens to be chosen to serve that customer...

And it turns out that customer is Red. He's holding one of those recruitment flyers in his hand and is looking it over whlie he waits for his maid/butler to show up.

[From this distance, Red's distinctive silhouette is still pretty recognizable. For a moment, Akira balks — but then Akemi puts on a lofty smile and struts over.]

Good evening, Master. Welcome to Milky Rose! I'm so glad you're here!

[She bows, though perhaps not as deeply as she could, and quickly pulls herself back up into a poised position with her head up high, looking down at Red. She quickly spots the flyer in his hand, making a little "hoh!" sound.]

Well, well! Is that one of our Moe-Moe Recruitment Flyers? You think you have what it takes to do our jobs, Master?

[She makes a point of looking him up and down, and her smile widens.]

Hmm, I don't just say this to just anyone, but... your super-devoted maid thinks you definitely could~

[When Red looks up from his flyer and sees who his maid is, he immediately looks surprised and gives her a good look-over as well. That height, those eyes, that facial structure, the name on her nametag... Yeah, there's no doubt about it. He looks at Akira so often, it would be shameful if he couldn't recognize his own roommate regardless of how much makeup or pretty pigtails he's wearing.

Then he starts smiling as well.]

Thanks. That means a lot coming from you... Akemi-chan.

[He sets the flyer down and off to the side. The high pay is literally the only reason Red is even entertaining the thought of working here — but it's still just a thought. He hasn't made a final decision yet. He wanted to get someone else's insight on this place first, and while he knows he could just ask Terry, it's always good to get multiple perspectives. And meet another potential coworker, he supposes.

He's already so glad he did this. Just knowing that Akira is working here too adds another point in the cafe's favor.]

I actually wanted to talk about that, but first... can I get a slice of lemon cake and a glass of water, please?

[Yes, Akira decides internally, he likes this. Akemi's insufferably bloated ego coming out in contrast to her position as lower than Red and everyone else? That's interesting. He wants to keep doing that.]

Just lemon cake and water? Of course! I'll put that order in for you right now, and then I'll come back to you, just like always!

[She makes a cute pose and flounces off, pigtails and skirt frills bobbing relentlessly. And as promised, she returns a few minutes later for the chat segment, giggling cutely to announce her presence.]

May I sit down, Master?

[Toki in no way recognizes Akira, and he's approaching Akemi-chan solely because she's very tall.]

Maid-chan~! You look very lovely today~! I need no services, yet only a moment of your time, if such a beautiful creature would see fit to acknowledge the presence of a lowly peasant~!

[Hmm... well, he's already here so he must have paid the table/bar fee. Akemi turns around, flipping her hair magnificently and looking down — way down — at Toki.]

Yeee~s? Worthless peasant you may be, but in here, you are still my Master!

["Worthless peasant" has a nice ring to it coming from Akemi-chan, and later, Toki may partake in her services. For now, he has another sort of request. Kido didn't want him to work at the maid cafe, but approved of his desire to wear a maid outfit.]

Excellent! I wish to purchase one of the maid costumes~!

[See? People love it when a pretty girl puts them down and praises them in the same breath.]

A maid's costume cannot merely be bought and sold like any other garment! Her dress is the most sacred possession a maid can have! My apologies, Master, but the only way to come into ownership... is to become a maid yourself!

[ Hmmmm. For some reason, it looks like the maid cafe has had more... employees lately... Terry thinks it's just a trick of the mind since he's so tired. Anyway, on odd days, he's a butler, on even days, he's a maid named Emily. He thought the half-month maid event was over... have mercy... his manager likes to use the whole "you owe a debt to this town" as leverage, so he's roped in and he really needs more money... legally.

Terry is always putting up the nice customer service smile facade no matter whether he's a butler or maid. Feel free to request him or whatever. He always smells like cinnamon no matter what, so picking him out is really easy. ]

[ Sometimes her dummy is here in a maid outfit, but sometimes it's the actual 45 herself. On 11/27-30, she's a maid. On 12/1-3, she's a butler. Who's the new guy? Looks like his name is Ikki or something.

Feel free to request this person too. ]

[And who should wander over to him but Jerk Maid herself. She already knows that Itsuki presents as Ikki as well, but tonight a customer has a special request... Akemi sounds scornful even as she explains.]

It would appear that our Mistress over there has specifically requested a romance skit from the two of us~ She's taken a liking to you, you see, and she would have us kiss as dolls!

[They are not permitted to kiss each other for the guests' enjoyment, but they can certainly make like they're going to. Sure enough, if Ikki looks, there is an NPC young lady sitting nearby, watching the pair attentively. She's too far away to hear the conversation, but Akemi maintains character anyhow.]

[ While 45 can convincingly look like a guy, Akemi-chan still has a whopping nine inches on her, since she can't change her height. And since it's the actual 45 working here instead of a dummy this time, she glances over at the customer, holds Akemi's hand and pulls her along.

The irony here is that 45's classified as a Doll and it doesn't escape her notice. Not like it matters since no one here knows, but when they get to the stage, 45 grabs a random prop from the box. It's a fake flower. She hides it from view. If Akemi has any ideas, now would be a good time. Otherwise, the skit will maybe go horribly. ]

[Akemi sees that flower and assumes that Ikki is going for some sort of confession scene? Okay. She can work with that.]

[She turns away from Ikki and towards the audience, one hand draped dramatically over her forehead, gazing longingly into the middle distance.]

I have been forgotten! Forsaken! Abandoned! My heart left in pieces... I shall never love again!

[ Ikki was gonna go with a seductive tango, but this is fine too. Very dramatic. Ikki likes that. ]

My dear, Lady Akemi... please do not fret.

[ Ikki kneels and holds out the flower in a proposal stance. ]

For I will never forget you. I will never abandon you... I shall pick up the pieces to mend your heart once more, for I, too, have a broken heart that needs to be mended. Would you... pick up the pieces for me?

[Look what the cat dragged in! Or the maid, rather. Yeah, he's been caught by one of the fine folks handing out flyers with the expression of someone who Doesn't Really Want To Be Here But Couldn't Say No.
