→ 2/14 Valentine's Day
- In the snowing days approaching the 14th, Hirajiro has been bustling with energy. Young girls and women huddle together in the stores, discussing and examining different ingredients and cute gift wrap for their honmei chocos, while the boys and men either boast about how much chocolate they'll get or secretly hope that they'd get something special from their loved ones. Bright pink and red decortations litter the windows and doors of the marketplace and large signs announce their special Valentine's Day specials. Amongst them are handmade posters that mention a Group Date taking place at the local maid cafe with a first free round of refreshments or desert.
When the special day finally arrives, restaurants are packed with couples and an abundance of chocolates are passed around, including both giri chocos and tomo chocos for those singles so they aren't left out. Anyone going anywhere as a pair, whether they're actually together or not, are complimented by the locals, whether they're innocent little comments, such as how cute they look together, to the more invasive questions, such as when they're finally going to get married. It's a busy day for the town and the fortunate, or unfortunate, who pass by the maid cafe will be forcefully dragged in by either Rei or her old coworkers. Without another word, they'd be seated at a table of either two or four. Unfortunately, there isn't enough space for tables of eight, so this is the best that they could do. Maids and the occasional butler will sometimes seat themselves at the table to also participate, but mostly if someone looks particularly lonely, so don't worry.
Everyone gets to be loved today!
→ 2/15 - 2/25 Festivals
- The following days continue to be as lively as the previous. Old decorations are torn down and new signs are put up, annoucing sales on their leftover Valentine's day inventory. The streets replace the crowds of couples with food stands selling mochi and sake and snow huts that vary in size. Most of them are small, just big enough to host a small alter with a candle and an offering of rice wine and daifuku for the gods, but some overly ambitious townspeople build a few that are large enough to house entire people.
The town remarks on how lucky they are to have snowfall only a few days before the Kamakura Snow Festival. The Gods, specifically the Daitengu in the mountains, must have blessed them so they may celebrate. For the 15th and 16th, many of the children laugh as they make their little huts and throw snowballs at each other while the adults drink and enjoy their little winter wonderland.
As quickly as the snow came, it leaves only a few days later. Hirajiro returns to its quiet and peaceful state until the 25th. Two weeks after its original date, the Kasedori Festival begins. They're behind this year, due to the lack of volunteers to dress in nothing but a loincloth and a straw coat, but after some "gentle" coaxing, they finally have enough men to run around.
They begin by running around a bonfire set in the center of the town before they split up and terrorize the town, crying out bird sounds as they dance around. It is encouraged for members of the town to dump entire buckets of water on these poor volunteers in order to pray for fire prevention and a prosperous year. Of course, they will shake violently to dry themselves so there may be some literal backlash, but overall, it's a fun and eventful day.
If you're not one of the unfortunate few who got dragged into becoming a strawman, of course, and if you don't stick around the streets during that following Lockdown. Rather than the usual black blobs of Shadows, there appears to be a mob of Warajis wandering the streets, formed from the pieces of straws left on the ground. They screech and invade houses, destroying whatever they can get their little chicken hands on. What a peaceful ending.
→ MOD NOTES
- ⬥ As of 2/3, the Daitengu, Miyamoto-no-Yamazaki (aka Hiroto), began staying at the Black Cat house. Placing a special barrier around both the main house and clubhouse, anyone who approaches the houses and is not a Persona user will find themselves suddenly confused and turn around, walking somewhere else until they forget that they even appraoched the homes.
⬥ All the pieces of the final ofuda have now been collected. With four ofudas, the door back home can be opened. A team meeting may be smart to hold to discuss what to do.
⬥ The townspeople continue to remain in an oblivious state regarding Personas or anything supernatural.

No, I'm... I'm okay! We have to find our new house today!
[ She looks very determined by this, though she still looks completely worn out. Sweat drips from the side of her face and it's still red from that overexertion of running, but she's not going to stop now just because she's tired. They have to keep moving! ]
I'll rest when we're done!
no subject
You're sure? It doesn't have to be today!
no subject
Mmhm, I want it to be today! Look, there's a tea shop. We can get a drink there and then keep looking!
[ She holds onto Toki's hand and drags him over to the tea shop, but it's empty. There's not a single person in sight, but everything, from the tables to the cartons of tea leaves on the counter, is neatly put in place. Mysterious... ]
no subject
[Rei gets what she wants, and Toki will deal with the fallout and make her slightly burned soup.]
Was this here before?
[There's probably some new things in town since December that Toki's never seen, even if he'd gone by them. There's no dust in the shop, and it looks like they should be open.]
Hello~!? Anyone here~!?
no subject
[ It might have been built in the times that the townspeople hated them and she didn't go out that often since she was either sick or she wanted to avoid the mean people on the streets, but even then... it'd be pretty hard to miss if a new shop opened up. She doesn't see any signs announcing its new arrival and when Toki shouts out, there is no response. There isn't even any music playing. It's just eerily quiet. ]
... maybe they're on their break? Should we look for them?
no subject
[He's still more concerned with Rei wearing herself out than the location of the tea shop staff.]
no subject
[ She's afraid that they'd catch them going behind the counter to make their tea and accuse them of being thieves. It will only add to the trouble that they have already caused a bit earlier... ]
We can look around? Maybe they're hurt somewhere and that's why they're not here.
no subject
Do you think something happened!? Were they attacked!? Was the tea poisoned!?
[Toki drops the jar of tea leaves he was touching. It shatters on the floor.]
no subject
I-- I don't know if the tea is poisoned! But maybe they're sick because the Shadows got to them last night!
[ Maybe they didn't get to close up in time before the Lockdown and that's why the shop is still open. There is weirdly not a sign of times on the front door so who knows when this shop closes. It might be like one of those bars that Terry likes to go to and that are constantly open really late into the night! ]
no subject
S-should we call the police?
[And get arrested for breaking into a random tea shop, because Toki doesn't think. The local authorities wouldn't have anything to do with Shadow-related crimes anyway.]
no subject
If it's a Shadow attack then the police can't help... u-umm, I'll summon Ananke and Zhn and they can check around for us? And if they find anyone hurt, they can heal them.
[ She'll summon them anyway before Toki can say otherwise because now she's getting scared. The bunnies hop over to the broken jar on the ground, sniffing at the leaves, while Zhn just lets out a yawn and stretches. Ananke starts to clear away the glass. ]
no subject
[Toki summons Joroko as well, just in case some murderer or the like is still lurking around. She'll look through the rooms, and head upstairs if she finds nothing on the first floor.]

"Good job."
[She attempts to contact Toki and tell him the door's open, but their psychic link is no more after the canon update. She sighs and then yells down the stairs, because she's Toki's Persona after all.]
"Toki! Come here!"
[There's a shriek of surprise from downstairs, and then Toki running, because he's afraid something happened and maybe she's found the owners and they're dead.]
Joroko! Is everything- oh my god!
[There's so many spiders...]
no subject
What?! What?! What is it?!
[ If Toki suddenly comes to a stop, there is going to be a domino effect in which Rei will crash into him then Ananke will crash into her then Zn crash into Ananke... All of them were running far too quickly to come to a slow halt. ]

Oh, Tokidoki, I'm sorry! Are you okay?!
[ She sneezes at all the dust in the apartment. She hasn't taken a good look yet, but it'll soon become familiar. There are two bedrooms, one completely emptied while the other containing a tiny and dirty futon and a box in the corner. The kitchen upstairs is far smaller than the one downstairs, connected to the equally small dining rood where an old table stands, clearly seen better days. The rest of the apartment is empty, asides from all the dust and spiders and other bugs that have now called this their home. ]
no subject
[His back will be bruised for days, but he is a fragile human and is lucky he didn't break his spine. He gets off the floor, brushing dust from his clothes as best as he can. It just creates little clouds.]
It looks... a lot more worn down up here. No one lives here.
[They couldn't. With all the bugs. And that futon is really gross. Toki goes for the box in the corner of the bedroom. Maybe that will have some information in it.]
no subject
[ It's filled with old children's clothing, ones that have clearly been sitting in the box for years and years from the amount of dust and dirt they have gathered. There are shirts, little socks, a skirt here and there, but nothing much more. ]
Oh...
[ As she moves towards Toki to also peer into the box, it starts to come back. There's a small picture book tucked into the side. It's a story about two mice who gather food and find a giant egg that can feed them for days. ]
I... know what those are.
no subject
[Toki can't figure out why the only thing left in this place would be a box of old children's clothes. It's so strange. Then he sees the book, and picks it up. It's nothing he's seen before.]
How would you know them?
no subject
[ The clothes are hard to remember. She doesn't recall looking at them very often, but she definitely remembers the book. There's a little poem at the end that can be sung by the parents, but Rei always did that part on her own. Of course, it could have belonged to another child, but combining that with the sense of familiarity in this apartment and a futon that she vaguely remembers sleeping in, she has her suspicions. ]
Is... Is my name at the back of the book?
[ Rather than on the first page, Niko's name is scribbled onto the last. It's messy and uncoordinated and done in pen. ]
