i. 8/16-8/30: you're half the man i am
[ It can't get any more ironic. The morning after Obon, a box of butter is delivered to Mondo's doorstep. You might...

1) Find it before he does, if you walk by the warehouse nearby the school early in the morning. Did Mondo start a new business? Who knows.

2) Spot Mondo staring at the box of butter. He'll think it's some prank that someone pulled on him. He might visit the Velvet Room to see if the attendants know anything. Or are they behind all of these random items that come out of nowhere?

3) Be invited by him to have some, or for a cooking session. He doesn't even cook that much so he'll probably give it to Terry otherwise, maybe? The hell does he do with 80(???)kg of butter... It says 80kg on the label, but it's light and weighs at most 1kg. However, when they scoop there seems to be endless amount of butter...? ]

ii. 8/16-8/30: we're gonna accelerate till dawn
[ Later that evening, people might notice a large shadow floating on the air, until it finally is dropped just a few centimeters away from where Mondo is... The crows are working hard to deliver it to him, but the fall certainly did some damage to it ー especially since the motorcycle is self-built. He has so many questions, but before that he'll do some reparation work so if you stop by, he can show you how to fix a bike, or if you ever want a ride from him anytime in the month after the 16th, he's game... if he likes you. Then again, he likes a lot of people in Hirajiro, so that's a thing.

He'll also start some delivery services now that he has motorbike!! Hirajiro's first Uber? Maybe... ]

iii. 8/20-8/30: neko neko neko nyaamii nyaamii
[ Mondo is almost scared of waking up every morning because something just suddenly come up without warning, and today is no different. He wakes up to 5 more kitties on top of the one he already has. So now he has to father 6 cats... He doesn't know if he can take care of them all, and Lia the tabby (his first cat) isn't very excited with his attention that are now have to be split among the other five.

He'll walk around the town with them trotting behind him, trying to see if anyone wants to adopt one or two. He'll keep them if no one does... Maybe if anyone wants to help him name them, lol, he's always relying on other people for names... useless. He'll also allow people to play with them as long as they're gentle! You can decide where you see him in town because he'll literally walk around the whole town trying his luck. ]

iv. 8/25-8/30: 8bit tour

So Mondo manages to get a secondhand galapagos cellphone that can send photos and text, also do calls but not video calls! Feel free to bother him through phone calls or texts, he's not very tech savvy but he can text. You can also order some delivery through him... lmfao maybe if the attendants want his services... ]

v. anytime in august
[ Apart from working at Hoshino Carpenters, where a middle-aged couple work on carpentering services as well as some wood crafts, Mondo has his own side job of making trinkets and smaller wood crafts which doesn't have to go through the Hoshino's. If you want to commission him for a gift for that special someone, he's here. He'll also hold some impromptu workshops too and is more than happy to teach people how to make things! Despite the large bara fingers, they're quite nimble.

Other than that, he'll be at the dungeons to collect items and $$$. He wants to save up for phone (which he'll have towards the end of the month), so he'll find every ways possible to get all the dollah. He will still be around even after he gets his kaching because nothing wrong with getting more money! If you want to team up with him, he's down. He'll be in every floor except the fourth, he's here for your Fire and Physical attack needs. He's also gotten Tetrakarn so he can reflect physical damages, if that's a thing that you need! ]

[ It's well-founded jealousy, because kittens are babies and that means they have that much more charm. How do you resist kittens, with their stubby tails and fuzzy fur?

But then, on a whole other level, is the allure of toe beans. There is absolutely nothing more magical than being able to hold a cat's paw and touch their beans and the kittens are immediately forgotten while Kido has both hands out, Lia's paws on top of hers. I need to go update Kido's favorite people ranking to put Lia on the top. ]

Seto- that's my brother- always said that cats are pretty solitary. Maybe she's not used to having so many other cats around, and kittens can be tiring.

[ Mondo's just putting his hand over his mouth to hold back his laughter watching the interactions that are happening before him. Lia seems so pleased that she won over Kido's attention, letting her touch her toe beans without any complaints. She's never had to work hard for attention because Mondo (and sometimes Terry) is always showering her with it and having it suddenly taken away from her seems to bother her a lot. So Kido giving her the attention she wanted puts her on the top of Lia's favourite people ranking, knocking Mondo and Terry off easily. It's mutual!!

When the kittens try to get more attention from Kido by chewing on her shoelaces and her shoes in general, Lia has something in mind already. She lies down with her back on the ground, showing off her belly. She's showing them who's the senpai, who's the boss. ]

Sounds like it. I also feel like she wanna assert dominance... She's actin' like the top dude from this other gang I used to fight with. They kept tryinna show off they got more. [ He shakes his head, sighing. ] 's cute when Lia's the one doin' it, tho'.

[ Holy shit, a cat belly is the ultimate sign of trust and it takes everything in her power not to touch Lia's stomach or— this is suddenly the most difficult thing to do in the world— not bury her face in that soft fur, it's so tempting, she's so soft. ]

If it's like this, Kido carefull sits so that her legs are outstretched so there's enough shoe and leg to go around for all the kittens, while she trokes Lia on the top of her head with a finger. ]

She really is cute... It's sort of like when a family has a new baby, and the older sibling gets jealous because they have to share the attention, huh? You'd better treat them all well, Mondo.

[ Every single one of them. Love them all, you're not allowed to give them away and split them up. You're not allowed to break apart family. ]

[ That's smart of Kido - now all the kitties get what they want. The small ones can now freely attack Kido's shoes and pants (though they're just basically pawing at them), while Lia gets them nice strokes. Mmm, she looks pleased. ]

Pfft! [ Mondo can't help but snort at that analogy - it's true. ] Yeah, exactly like that.

[ Actually, Kido does remind him a lil' of cats sometimes, too, but he'll keep that to himself.

But oh... Kido's request (command?) is a bit tough. It's the Danchou's command, but... hmm. He begins rubbing the back of his head. ]

Let's be real, I've got no confidence to take care of all of 'em. Lia alone's already a handful. I'm... worried I'll end up not taking care of some of them enough. [ ..... ] Hey, that's right! We can take care of 'em together!

[ She looks excited for a moment at the prospect of taking care of the kittens— she was never allowed a pet before, after all, and they're cute and she loves cats and... It's just tough, when she can't be with them all the time to look after them. ]

I'd like to, but I wouldn't be able to be around all the time. Will they be staying with you where you sleep? Cats can keep themselves busy during the day, but I don't actually know how much extra care kittens need, or if Lia would be up to taking care of kittens that aren't hers...

[ It'd be easier if they lived together, and she would suggest having them stay at the hideout, but all of Terrence's cats will also be there and even if they don't fight, she's pretty sure there's some sort of health code violation for keeping a dozen cats in one house. ]

Now that ya mentioned it, I dunno either...

[ Lia was a stray and she was already big when she met Mondo, so he didn't have to think too much. He'll need to look things up and ask around... ]

But nah, ya can just come around whenever ya feel like it. Lia usually moves about by herself during the day, I dunno if they gonna do the same eventually... [ Since they've been following him around all day.] They'll prolly sleep with me, so just play wit 'em if ya see them. I'll figure out the rest!

[ There are several hundred cats in this town and Kido can't tell any of them apart outside of color, so the chances are slim to none that she'll be able to pick these particular kittens out from the crowd. She'll just have to stop and pet every cat she sees, just in case. Or look around for Mondo as a beacon and use him to figure out which cats are which. ]

Kittens grow up fast, so I'm sure they'll be okay. They've got Lia as a role model, after all.

[ Good cat, best cat. Kido wants to plant a kiss on Lia's forehead but she'll have to do that some other time when nobody is looking. ]

[ It's okay Kido, Lia will come to you in return! Animals are good at sensing people who like them, and Kido's love reaches her for sure. She'll just nuzzle her head to your stomach, it's fine! ]

Heh. You're right. Lia's a badass.

[ Mondo nods proudly. She's grown up a lot since the first time he met her in the alley, jealousy aside. He's such a proud dad. The other kittens, though... like Kido, he can't be 100% sure he'll memorise them quickly if they aren't following him around like this. Maybe he should get a collar for all of them just in case. ]

...Say, Kido, ya free now?

[ Lia is everything Kido aspires to be: very cute but also a badass. Soft and warm... but also a badass. Lia's the best and Kido gets lost in the bliss of petting her, that she almost tunes Mondo out and misses the question. ]

—Oh. Yeah, I'm free. Did you want to do something together?

Wanna come with us to the pet shop? I'm gonna see what I can get for these kids. For Lia too, maybe!

[ Seeing how blissful Kido is around the cats makes Mondo not want to separate them so soon. Might as well get her to join him walking around with the cattes! ]

[ Lia meows at Kido's feet and she laughs. ]

Better change that "maybe" to a "definitely," or someone's going to be mad. But sure, I'd love to come along.

Look at that, she's whining at you already. She's warmin' up at ya real quick, ain't she?

[ He'll look down at Kido's shoelaces before they get going. ]

Might wanna check if they're loose. They sure liked biting on people's shoes, I dunno why. [ He shakes his head. ] Have ya ever had pets back home, Kido?

We'll have to get them some other toys so they leave people's shoes alone, huh?

[ Kido crouches down and makes sure her laces are tight— they're a little soggy, and more frayed now where the fabric had gotten snagged by tiny little claws, but she's not in any danger of losing her shoes. ]

My brother, Seto, had a pet hamster for a while when we were little. He'd had to chase it around the house when it got out of the cage. [ He would cry every time, fearing it'd gotten lost or hurt, and Kido smiles at the memory ] But I never had my own pet.

Yeah. I heard there's somethin' like... cat tower? Looks like a good thing they can play around at. Maybe should get them all beds too. For Lia... maybe some toys. The frog plush that I got her is gettin' all torn up.

[ Once he's sure she has her laces tight, he'll start walking to lead his children to the pet shop. ]

Ah... I bet it's real hard to find it if it got away 'cuz it's so small. [ He'll be afraid of accidentally stepping on it... ] Must've been real cute tho', ain't it?

[ Just imagining them munching on food with their fat cheeks... ah. That somehow makes him think of Rei. ]

I've only ever had dogs before, and they're the fuckin' best... [ His eyes glimmer when he thinks about them. ] ...To be real wit' ya, I didn't think cats are this cute till I came here. They sure know how to charm people.

[ A cat tower would be a good idea, since it'll hold a bunch of cats all at once, but Mondo would probably get a better deal with collecting cardboard boxes to use as beds instead of buying actual beds. Kido might bring it up once they're in the store and sees how much they cost. ]

Yeah, it was really cute. Certain dogs are too, but cats— there's no cat that isn't cute. Everybody here seems to love them too, so it's probably rubbed off on you.

[ See this is why Mondo needs Kido to be his brain. He just spends his money without thinking when it comes to his beloved cattes or motorbike or friends. He needs the Kido Stopper to control his spending... ]

Certain dogs only?

[ He laughs. A few months back he would've forced his opinion down Kido's throat, that DOGS ARE THE BEST!!!!! and he hasn't actually changed his mind, but he's matured up a little not to say it. ]

I can see that fo sho'. Like you.

[ Some dogs are big and scary, okay!! Kido likes small cute fluffy things, and she's biased towards cats because they're all three. ]

Like... what? What part?

[ Say it, Mondo. ]

Like the way your eyebrows relax when you're with 'em.

[ Does Kido not notice this herself? Mondo grins. ]

Or how happy you seem around them.

[ No she doesn't, and she makes a mental note to knit her eyebrows around cats from now on so she doesn't look so happy and sappy, ahh it's embarrassing to be called out like that. ]

Alright, alright! Stop talking!! We're going to the store, right? Pick up the pace! Let's go!

[ That's fine, Kido. He knows your true heart and he'll tease you for the knitted eyebrows next time :)

He snickers, picking up the pace as what she commanded. Mondo doesn't usually tease Kido like this but it's surprisingly fun... He can get behind this. ]

It's kinda refreshing to see you like this. Right, Lia?

[ Lia meows in response of her name being mentioned, and the other five join in meowing because they hear Lia's lead. ]

[ Lia, no!!! Kittens... why are y'all ganging up on her......... Kido will have to disagree when she's the one being teased, but it does come with a sense of familiarity: this is basically how her gang treated each other all the time, poking fun at each other but remaining close despite all of that because they know the others don't have any ill will.

Just for this, when they get to the pet store, Kido is going to pick out five expensive cat beds and fancy toys and make Mondo buy all of them. ]

With them exchanging banters like this, the walk to the pet shop feels like a breeze. Before they know it, they're in front of a display window opposite where small animals are put in their boxes, happily sleeping or eating. Lia and the kittens watch the other animals curiously, successfully getting a rabbit's attention who's now sniffing on the window and try to reach over them... to no avail, obviously. ]

Whoa... They've got more animals now! Look at 'em, Kido!

[ laughs, you can practically hear her internally screaming in that icon ]

Oh...

[ She breathes out, soft, enamored ]

How cute, they have rabbits and hamsters too...

[ Mondo will have to do his own shopping, because Kido's too caught up with looking at the animals, placing a hand on the glass cage and looking absolutely delighted when a rabbit comes up and bops its nose against her finger. ]

[ This is where Mondo wishes he has a phone because he would love to take that look on Kido's face. Danchou's dere face.... ]

They've got more inside, ya know? ...I'll head in first, yeah?

[ Kido might not hear him with her having A Moment with the bunny... either way, he'll head into the the store with Lia and the kittens. Whenever she comes in, she'll find him browsing through the collar area. They have so many kinds, more than he expected... Mondo ends up staring at them one by one, admiring the intricate details and the craft. Uhhh what was he here for again? ]

[ They're here to make hearteyes at the rabbits, obviously. Kido just never comes in at all... she stays outside with her forehead pressed against the window smiling down at the rabbits (': ]
