[ If you had stepped into Hirajiro any time in July and checked out its street full of bustling workers, chances are, you were probably given a pamphlet by girls in maid outfits with cat ears. nyan. It's a special promotion that will be held this week from July 15th to July 20th, where you'll be given a loyalty punch card for the first entree you order and you will be given one free entree after the third hole is punched for the duration of the event. There's also a kid's meal discount for 20% off! You can even get another punch card after you use up your first one. Wow.

The owner of the place is kinda odd though. During those six days, the first three days (15-17) will be full of maids only. The latter half (18-20) will have butlers only. After that, it looks like they would go back to normal with a mix of maids and butlers with cat ears. The owner definitely wanted to try something new to see how it would go. Also, if you have long hair, you need to tie it back somehow, no matter what. It's still a food industry, after all.

There's a problem though...

Terry was originally supposed to have the first three days off, since it was maids only. However, with the lethargy that had plagued Hirajiro as of late, he was "asked" to cover various shifts. In the end, he accepted it begrudgingly and told the owner that he would cover the absent coworkers' shifts for the first two days.

A mix of "I wouldn't look good in a dress", "This makeup will make it look like you are a completely different person. Give me that tape", "Why is tape used in makeup?! This wig is itchy", "This is your debut as Emily. Do your best, Emily" and yells of agony filled the room past the door that marks "employees only". ]

[ NOTE: There's a lunch menu and a dinner menu (there's no alcohol but you can also make something up as long as seems "reasonable") along with a list of services that the customer may request as a side bonus if they order 1 entree.

1. Shoulder massage (5 minutes)
2. Eating buddy (10 minutes, the server sits at the table with you and you can talk to them or whatever)
3. A short skit (the servers act out a dramatization purely for SFW fanservice)

Should they choose none of the above or didn't order 1 entree, the server will leave and come back with a cute, giant life-sized bear plush doll with a ribbon around its neck and place them on the opposite seat of the customer. The customer also has an option to buy it after they finish whatever they ordered for the equivalent of ~$25 in Hirajiro's currency.

The owner will be occasionally making rounds to see if his employees are being harassed, ask customers how is everything, and generally just overlooking the establishment. You're also free to have the skirt length range from a little above the knee or down to mid-calf if your character also works here.

I. 7/15-16 (Customers) Maid Side

[ The waitress(?) that greets you is rather tall (180cm/5'11") with a maid outfit that cover every inch of their body up top with the skirt hem only a foot off the ground. His fellow coworkers insisted that he doesn't have "girly legs", so that it was better to cover them with a longer skirt. What does that even mean?! Terry has no idea, but he's here, with his customer service smile. His long, black wig is tied in one of those fancy lady buns with wavy side fringes. She's beauty, she's grace-- ]

Hello, (master/mistress). [ A small curtsy. ] My name is Emily. How may I serve you today?

[ --Never mind. Terry's voice can only go so high, and it honestly sounds like "Emily" has a cold or something. But it's fine. Emily is pretty. That's what's important as a worker in this place. He's also pretty much convinced that makeup must be magical somehow because he didn't recognize himself in the mirror, but for those who pay attention to detail, the makeup couldn't fully cover his cheek scar, so if your character can recognize that, go for it. ]


II. 7/18-20 (Customers) Butler Side

[ Terry managed to at least keep one of the days off (17th), so when he comes back on the 18th, he's back in full swing. His customer service mindset feels a lot more flexible, so he's adopting various... personalities that the customers would like, all in his butler outfit with a portion of his hair combed back (kinda like his default icon without the roses).

In actuality, every time there are imaginary sparkles because of his customer service mindset attempting to charm a customer, Terry is very embarrassed on the inside. He tries to be suave and cool, when he is anything but. It kinda works? Feel free to make fun of his attempts. ]

Hello, (master/mistress). [ A small bow. ] My name is Terry. How may I serve you today?

III. 7/15-16, 7/18-20 (Coworkers) Break Room

[ It's time for break! And once you enter the back break room, you're going to see Emily/Terry with head down onto the table with a slight whine. ]

[ Terry--no, Emily decided to take a break from serving customers and is now passing out small tissue packs (which he really doesn't understand) to passerbys in order to advertise the current campaign his workplace has. Hirajiro understandably has more older adults than younger ones, so the owner is also trying to reel them in with a promise of a shoulder massage if they buy one entree. Sneaky, since they're all hardworking adults and probably need it.

Terry is too busy passing out tissue packs that he doesn't always look at the passerbys in the face. Just doing a closed eye, polite smile is enough, so he hands one over to Hibiki the same way. ]

Terry? [ He'd add a ☆ at the end of the sentence, but he's genuinely shocked. ] What...is that you?

[ The more he looks at him, the less sure Hibiki becomes. At first glance, the maid standing next to him reminded him of Terry, but should he believe this hunch? Well, if it's not Terry, then he can always take the tissue packs and walk away as fast as possible.

Also please ignore the crows circling above his head like some vultures. ]

One free entree for every third hole means he gets a free meal at the end of every day, right? But why limit himself to three meals a day when he can have two hundred?? It's not like Ryoji sleeps at night anyways; he has all this extra time in the world and he's just going to sort of live here, I guess.

Regardless of what "Emily" sounds like, Ryoji doesn't care, hand on his chest and smile on his face. ]

Good morning, Emily! [ It's whatever time the cafe opened. Ryoji was standing out by the door waiting for them to flip the sign. ] My name is Ryoji Mochizuki. Would you care to join me for breakfast?

This guy though... Terry had been here since opening, though it took some time to get dolled up into a maid. He remembers Ryoji pretty much camping outside the cafe. Perhaps he's excited about the cafe promotions? Does he like maids that much?? ]

Sir, I'd like to, but you must order an entree first and decide which service you would like with it. I can take your order right now if you are ready and accompany you when the food arrives.

[ The cafe has some big glass windows, so you know what he sees? Kido passing by and taking a picture. With his phone. Good job, Kido. You managed to flip his panic response. Terry hurriedly gets a fellow co-worker, saying that Natsuki will serve them now and then he fucking BOLTS out of the cafe. HE'LL EXPLAIN LATER TO HIS BOSS!!

It doesn't take long for him to catch up with Kido. Don't ask how he can run with those mary janes. ]

The lady that welcomes him is absolutely stunning. She looks so elegant ー even the deep voice is actually quite... alluring. (Where has he heard that voice before?) He's not gonna think about it too much! Clearing his throat, he says: ]

[ He's so not used to this, and he can't even look at the lady for longer than 1-2 seconds. Why didn't anyone tell him it's this kind of cafe?! ]

[Normally, this isn't a place that Killua would even give a second look, but after getting pamphlets for this place more than three times, he figures he could check it out. He's getting a little bored of the meals he's been purchasing from the store anyway.

Still, he isn't expecting "Emily" when he sits down at his table. She isn't anyone he's seen around town, exactly, but there's something familiar about her that nags at Killua's senses. He squints at her, but points at the menu.]

I thought half of these were like a hobbit thing, but apparently there are that many or more meals in a day.

He has like three giant bear dolls already, seated around a table in the corner that's been set aside for Ryoji specifically because he lives here now. Please, he's lonely. ]

[ He'd usually just pull all the stops and just act it out with consulting a coworker, since it's very important to improvise, except Terry has never read Romeo and Juliet in any shape or form in his life. ]

( The beauty of the human form is certainly splendid in and of itself, but what you can dress it all up in? Shore is obsessed. She's seen a maid or two before, as well as a butler, but the verbiage is what she's unfamiliar.

Whether it's a maid or a butler that she's found to be the apple of her eye at the moment, she can't contain herself and eventually hugs them -- or maybe you? -- at the waist, completely enamored with the pageantry of it all. )

Ahh~ What a terrific ( She'll refer to you as a Cecilia or Evgeni, depending on your maid/butler status. ) I could just die!

TWO

( The whole reason Shore is even at this cafe is because she found quite a treasure on the street -- a wallet! From her understanding, street things are discarded or trash, even though she doesn't understand why anyone would just throw away currency. Down with capitalism, she supposes.

The biggest obstacle now is understanding what a lot of the menu items are. She's a big fan of food, but has no idea what exactly it is she might order, or even want to order. Just about anything? Sounds right.

Still, she turns in her chair, menu open and on display, to get the input of another table. )

Excuse me. ( The menu is thrust out, Shore hopes they can see it properly. ) I want to buy a food, but what foods are these?

THREE (MAID DAYS ONLY)

( Finally, during maid-a-palooza, Shore's incessant whining has led her to be granted a request -- wearing one of those lovely maid uniforms she's so obsessed with. She's also been given a set of cat ears for the completely immersive experience.

The problem is that she's never served anything, or anyone, in her life and barely knows how to walk, let alone perform any job tasks. Shore moves from table to table, holding a stack of about 20 menus so she doesn't run out -- something important! She knows!!

Oh, she's at your table. Time to put her new ensemble to the test. )

[ Terry is absolutely startled when Shore just hugs him at the waist all of a sudden. Good thing the owner didn't see, or else he'd probably come down here to scold her. He's luckily a butler for today, with the miserable days of being a maid being finally over for him, but still--that doesn't make it any better. ]

Ah, um--Mistress Shore... Please refrain from hugging me like that.

[ Even though normally, Terry wouldn't mind getting hugs or hugging other people, he's working!! So he needs to keep up the customer service face. ]

I'm not sure what an Evgeni is, but when you're ready, you can order which food you'd like.

[ Ryoji had just taken a seat down at his table, menu out in front of him but he takes Shore's in hand too to help hold it. He has to lean way over, chair balanced on the back two legs, but he somehow manages not to tip it. ]

Hm... It's hard to explain [ aka he doesn't know ] but everything that I've had here is delicious. Not knowing what something is, that just makes the surprise all the more exciting, doesn't it? So you really can't go wrong with choosing anything you want off the menus.

[ With a tissue package featuring the logo of this cafe in his pocket, Hibiki steps in. It happens to be lunchtime, so it's pretty crowded, but it turns out that the bunny boy is quite lucky—there's one free table left, but there's enough space for more than just one person. That leaves out two options:

1) If he spots a familiar person waiting in line to get a seat, Hibiki will wave at them and tell the staff that they're a friend he's been waiting for so they don't have to wait in line.
2) The staff might ask him if he's okay to share the table with someone else which he's perfectly fine with. There's no better place to meet new people than a maid/butler cafe, after all!

He's had more than enough time to examine the menu, so he's marveling at some of the options. All of these look good, so it's going to be a tough decision. ]

Katsudon looks really filling, but curry...I feel like eating curry. What did you pick?

[ As soon as Hibiki heard that the cafe is short on staff, he realizes that playing the role of a butler might be kind of fun. And he needs money. Not to mention that if he's lucky, maybe he'll get a free meal, too.

That's more than enough to fill him with energy and charm to push through the whole workday. Whether someone happens to be his first customer or his tenth, they get the same treatment. ]

Not that this job is particularly hard. The maid outfit isn't so bad either—it's almost too comfortable. During the past hour, he handed out a few packs of tissues, but it looks like the rush hour is over and there aren't many people walking on the street. Maybe that's why Mondo sticks out like a sore corncob.

There are two options for Hibiki: he can either pretend to be a shy maid or go full ham on Mondo and be the cutest maid to ever maid. Surprisingly, he picks the former route, but nothing is stopping him from mixing and match both of these. ]

[ Hibiki's wearing a wig and the same maid outfit as other maids in the cafe expect there's a pink ribbon on his chest to make him stand out a little. He has some light make up too because he couldn't talk one of the girls out of it. ]
